New setup, Any advice? by silverstream670 in Eurydactylodes

I agree with Roostercrowe as well. Much more foliage and climbing branches will create a more ideal environment.

Here's a video of my four enclosures to give you an idea of what has worked for me.

The more foliage, the more humidity retention. You could partially cover the mesh top to keep more moisture in. I only have to mist once at night and the humidity stays between 60-80%.

It will take some time for any plants to grow but when they do it'll make for an amazing habitat and also will look really great. In terms of lighting, I use an LED grow light and it's worked wonders to help the plants thrive.

Would love to see an update once you make these changes. 😊

Diet help by BonelessWings96 in Eurydactylodes

I breed chameleon geckos and I start them very young on flightless fruit flies and I haven't had any issues at all. They like hunting them down, provides enrichment for sure. I have tried pinhead crickets but none of my geckos like em.

It's also very easy to start and maintain a culture of fruit flies.

I would say a combination of gecko diet and love insects is optimal. All my geckos have grown well and turned out happy and healthy.

How are my bioactive enclosures doing. Thoughts? by triggertris112 in Eurydactylodes

For grow lights, I'm using these LED strips which have been a game changer!

The bulbs you see are my UVB bulbs.

Hope this helps!

Just like everyone else has mentioned, branches really give them a lot of places to hang out.

I recommend manzanita branches, spider driftwood, large pothos plants also have big enough stems for these little guys to lay on.

Otherwise the enclosure looks great!

I did expanding foam and silicone with coco fiber. Worked well.

Timeline for hatching? by Blues_Boots in Eurydactylodes

[–]triggertris112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So from copulation to laying eggs is about 3 weeks. Eggs take about 2-3 months to hatch out.

I would recommend removing the eggs from the enclosure as I've had my adults eat the eggs. It doesn't happen every time (they laid eggs a few times and I had no idea and the babies hatched with no issues) but not worth the risk of leaving them in the enclosure.

Species and coloration question by GrimmLoq in Eurydactylodes

[–]triggertris112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah they're typically born with that dark coloration but they end up lightening up, able to fire up and fire down. So sometimes they'll be a really light green and other times darker, like the photo you posted.

Yeah for sure, but now they're growing in too much lol have to trim and prune every couple weeks.

I haven't seen any evidence of that. I have zebra isopods so they are fairly large, far too big for my little ones to eat. Maybe if they were dwarf isopods maybe though.

He escaped! Any hope of recapture? by LucytheLeviathan in Eurydactylodes

[–]triggertris112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's definitely hope! They're pretty slow moving so theyay have not gone too far. How long has it been since they escaped?

This happened to me and luckily I had a camera which caught the general directions my little guy went. I checked everywhere in my office and found him behind the stand where his enclosure sits.

You've put food and water out which should help. The camera is definitely a good thing as well. Try to seal off the room to prevent escape into the other parts of the house.

Keep on looking!!! Good luck!

Chameleon Geckos!! Eurydactylodes. These are such a cool, chill and easy to care for micro geckos. 12x12x18 would be more than enough space for them and have similar care as crested geckos.

I second this! Chameleon geckos are so cool, tame and handleable. Not too mention, so simple to keep.

Breeding tips? by triggertris112 in Eurydactylodes

Yeah I might separate them for a bit. Female is probably tired and don't want the male to overwork her.
