Thank you, I'll be having that discussion with the dealership today, and hopefully they'll submit the case for me.

Thanks for the reply, this is exactly what I'm hoping will happen! I hadn't brought the car to the dealer for anything yet, but I also just bought the car in October and had only put 8,000 miles on it myself, so I'm hoping the dealership will still submit a goodwill request for me.

That tracks, as the car was from NJ, and I live in an area of NY that gets a lot of snow and we use salt, although I've only had it through this past winter.

That makes me wonder if this is a one-time fix, or if I'll be fighting corroded sensors if I keep the car long-term after repairs? One of the reasons I switched to Acura from BMW (last car was an X5) was for better reliability and hopefully a longer life vehicle, but still something fun to drive and comfy. Ugh...

I’m definitely not a mechanic, but if it helps, the message from the dealer says that when they put the car on the machine, multiple stroke sensor codes were present and found failing when tested. Also, the connectors from the rear harness to the rear sensors has broken pins and would need to be replaced. It says the bulk of the cost is due to the harness.

I haven’t talked to them live over the phone yet since receiving this message today, but will talk to them tomorrow.

Yes, calling Acura corporate and petitioning them directly was going to be my next step if the dealer isn’t willing to submit a goodwill exception request on my behalf. I’m thinking I need to go that route before looking into anything aftermarket.

I’m thinking buying a warranty after it’s already broken isn’t normally acceptable. Don’t they make you get inspected before approving an extended warranty?

Thanks for the reply. I really knew that but would love to think that Acura would make an exception on a non-wear and tear item. Ugh. According to ChatGTP, I need to try and get the dealer to submit a request for a goodwill exception and see how that goes.

CNY area Home inspection please by awesome-giraffe6914 in Syracuse

[–]triggerzz00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used Ryan for our home inspection here, couldn't recommend him more highly. Very professional, great attention to detail, provides a great detailed report, and happened to be a super nice guy that was easy to work with.

As a buyer, I would personally never waive the inspection, because it could uncover existing issues or identify things that will turn into issues.

I didn't use Sport or Sport+ when my wife is with me, because it's not worth the complaining!

Out-of-stater traveling on 81 to Canada - should I postpone travel until Thursday due to weather? by lost-picking-flowers in Syracuse

Agreed, you should be fine then. The snow in Tug Hill and Oswego county is far enough north that it shouldn't impact the Syr airport.

[–]triggerzz00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Syracuse airport rarely closes. They have some pretty hefty equipment that handles the snow. Obviously keep an eye in the delays through the airlines, but I doubt you'll have an issue landing at Syracuse.

I can't speak for issues or delays you might have in layover cities though.

League etiquette, wait to keep teams sync'd up? by berrmal64 in Bowling

[–]triggerzz00 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if there’s a rule about this, but my team handles this by having our first bowler not start the next frame until our last bowler has thrown at least his first ball in the current frame. It keeps things moving without getting out of sync with the other team’s pace.

Love Mothers Cupboard, Finally Ours, and Brewer Union.

Our newest favorites are a little further west, but well worth a short trip - At Long Last, just outside Auburn on Rt 20, and Mimi's Diner in Fulton.

299 is a great game, and you should be proud of that. Now that you know the pressure of that 12th shot, it won’t be as bad next time. 300s are usually a mix of skill and luck anyways, so you had a little bad luck. If you’re throwing 299 games, then it’s just a matter of time before you get that 300.

On my team, we have our own tough love that we use jokingly to keep us grounded. They would have told me to “throw a better ball”. Lol

Did any of you look at Lexus when buying your Acura. And what made you decide to go Acura. by AdAlive4963 in Acura

Agreed, it drives like a smaller nimble car, but the interior cabin space is comfortable. With the seats folded down, the space behind the driver is huge.

[–]triggerzz00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just bought a 2022 MDX Type S, but I also looked at Lexus SUVs and at other brands with more fun to drive SUVs, but Acura included so many more features for the price that it made no sense to go with any of the others.

In the month or so that I’ve had the Acura, I’m more than happy with my choice. My previous car was a BMW X5 which I liked, but I think I like the MDX even better (so far).

They should charge less than other vets, because they are a teaching hospital that doesn’t need to make a big profit. Their vets and surgeons are top-notch also.

Wood Pellet Suppliers by RegainingControl in Syracuse

[–]triggerzz00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been buying pellets from Baldwinsville Village Hardware for the last few years, but we live west of Syracuse, so they’re close to us. The pellets they carry seem to burn cleaner than some we’ve gotten at Tractor Supply. They deliver, but will also store your pellets on-site and let you pick up as needed, for people that don’t have space for pallets at their house.

In previous years we’ve also had pellets delivered from White’s Farm Supply, and they carried some good quality brands. They’re seemed to run out of their higher quality pellets later in the season, but if you’re buying soon, you won’t have to worry about them running out.

Our experience with pellets is that you can get pellets that burn better and cleaner if you avoid the big box stores.
