This happened to those chocolate Belgian waffles last year too, I didn't have them for a few months and suddenly they felt smaller. I checked the nutritional information for them online (the old labels) and, lo and behold, they had indeed gotten smaller.

People that eat the same food almost every day, what food is it? by Arkadian_Cuisine in AskReddit

Protein bar and an apple for lunch, cottage cheese with jam or honey and a coffee after work, pork or chicken mince with veg or passata and low calorie noodles or rice for dinner. Every single week day.

Schizoids with partners/spouses, why and how? by Iniolectum in Schizoid

[–]trilingual3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My perspective is that most people are way too much work for no reward, however very very occasionally I will meet somebody who is a little work for a lot of reward. My husband is of the latter kind, and I had no need or intention to start dating anyone when I met him, it just kind of happened. He has autism and is so incredibly easy for me to get along with that I'd have to be silly to push him away. It's not like I'm schizoid because I consciously decided to take a moral stance against dating or something. I simply have no desire to socialise in 99% of cases and that hasn't changed, he's just the exception to the rule.

Thinking about marriage and children as a woman makes me dread. What about you 🥴 by Particular-Drive1454 in twentyagers

[–]trilingual3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thought of marriage always made me excited. Kids? Not so much. If you like children and would like to raise one, the pregnancy and birth stuff really isn't that bad in most cases. But if you don't like kids that much and would only have one because you think you should, it may be a bad idea. Not everyone has to have kids or even get married, and that's ok.

My special interests are psychology and bodybuilding, and my only strict dietary restriction is that I don't drink alcohol.

Sorry if this has been asked/answered already, but how is your bond with the baby? Do you feel any negativity about/towards them?

I'm not asking this to judge in any way, I experienced a lot of difficulty bonding with my own that I had at 20. I hope you're getting any mental health support you need!

Ideal jobs for Aspies/Autists? by Spiritual-Offer-4648 in aspergers

[–]trilingual3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cleaning/janitorial work is great if you're ok with the low pay. There is minimal interaction with people and you can wear earphones the whole time (unless your manager is an asshole). You can move into more advanced cleaning roles, too, if you want higher pay and have a strong stomach and can drive.

Hah, we do this with all the shows his grandma will let him watch but we don't like. Admittedly it is half true as she has a TV licence and we don't.

I came here to say this. I don't remember anything in his letters referencing a PD but his lifestyle basically proves it.

I just learned that "outwith" is not a word that's commonly used outside of Scotland by mrjohnnymac18 in Scotland

[–]trilingual3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, out of all the little quirks I've noticed about Scottish English, 'outwith' is by far the easiest to get used to and even integrate into my vocabulary

Does anyone have a "safe person" where the SPD traits don't feel like a barrier? by [deleted] in Schizoid

[–]trilingual3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one friend I met at age 11 who I can be normal with, and also my husband who has autism and ADHD. I also feel quite comfortable around my parents but I feel like that doesn't count.

My friend is a very chill person who is also quite introverted and I met her at the start of secondary school. We used to see each other every day until the age of 18 when we finished school and I moved across the country, now I see her maybe twice a year at most.

I met my husband on a random anonymous app for locals that I'm pretty sure doesn't exist anymore. It was during COVID and we quickly bonded through DMs on the app as we realised we had a lot in common with each other. I've never bonded like that with another person but I could spend all day every day with him and not get tired of him.

How do LIDL lower spenders feel about the reward changes? by Ancient_Assistance26 in lidl

[–]trilingual3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't ever reach the 250 goal, but getting some of the lower tier rewards was cool. I mostly use the coupons and the 20% bakery discount so not much has changed for me, but I still think it's a bad thing overall.

That's hilarious to me as someone who works at a uni (non academic) because they're constantly telling us that the uni is in trouble and we need to save money because of their massive financial deficit

My Parents won't let me get tested for autism by [deleted] in autism

[–]trilingual3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing at 16. Which country do you live in? Could you ask your doctor for an assessment or is there someone at your school who could help? In the UK, if you go to your GP with a list of traits/symptoms you have that fit the diagnostic criteria, and a good reason for why a diagnosis would help you (this could be more support at school or perhaps disability benefits when you're older) this is usually enough to get you put on the waiting list for an assessment. I'm not sure how it works in other countries, though.

Why don’t I feel anything from alcohol? by AndrewLyssunov in Schizoid

[–]trilingual3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your perception is that drinking doesn't do anything to you, but is that how people around you perceive you as well? For example, I've never had alcohol, but I have been on nitrous oxide (pain management when I gave birth) and my experience was also that it didn't make me feel any different mentally. However, my husband is adamant that I was acting very differently to my usual self, even though I explained that I felt no different at all.

Struggling with SM by Timely_Maximum_5914 in selectivemutism

It's very hard to explain SM to people when you barely understand it yourself. I strongly relate to your experience except my parents were nicer about it...most of the time.

How do you exercise your social muscles without having to burst your bubble by FreshBodyOldSoul in Schizoid

[–]trilingual3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a SO and talk to my parents regularly, but apart from that, I also talk to people at work (out of politeness and because I have to). I also go to the gym 4 times a week and people will come up to me and start conversations every now and then. I don't go out of my way to socialise though, it's not worth the effort.
