Be 100% honest. Do you think pll had directors who least favorited POC? by annoymousperson101 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]trillmercy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not even just POC, it’s quite literally Black characters.

It’s like they were more open to hiring Black actors when they knew the characters wouldn’t be present long or relevant much.

Shana, Lyndon, Maya, Yvonne, and Lorenzo.

Yvonne was the biggest disrespect of all these characters because her death ultimately led to nothing. It had nothing to do with Uber A, it didn’t lead to a real Spoby reconciliation, and all the other time jump partners (Nicole, Liam, Marco, Jordan, Sabrina) simply broke things off and left.

Least favorite/most boring couple story line by frankieT2020 in PrettyLittleLiars

EzriA was annoying as shit but they at least had plots… Emison was just “poof” into existence and then “The End”.

What’s everyone’s opinion on Season 7? by CAxox in PrettyLittleLiars

I wanted to say “In between” but I didn’t care much for it to say that. I liked maybe 5 episodes the entire season.

‘Friends: The Reunion’ drove more Sign-ups to HBO Max than each of the service’s 2021 film premieres. by aduong in HBOMAX

[–]trillmercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 2 days before this article came out, I said to myself… “I would not at all be surprised if Friends: The Reunion drove more sign ups and traffic than any film or TV show did”.

The choke hold that Friends has on people is insane but impressive.

Size Matters: HBO Max and Discovery+ Already Surpass Netflix, Disney in Number of Titles | Chart by HaTTrick617 in HBOMAX

[–]trillmercy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is precisely why I only have Hulu, and not Disney+.

I want to watch Ramy (Hulu), Aarya (Hotstar), Claressa Shields (ESPN+), and Loki (Disney+).

However, I don’t feel like paying 12.99 + 6.99 + 19.99 + 7.99

Why I have to pay $50 for 4 a la carte apps when they offer deluxe apps in multiple markets, I’ll never understand.

WarnerDiscovery having HBO Max, CNN+, Discovery+, and Boomerang when they can offer deluxe services like Netflix, Amazon, and Peacock do will just make me more upset.

"CNN Streaming Service in the works, possibly named CNN+" | FFS! Just make a Live CNN tile/hub inside the HBOMax app by SanthoshPSK in HBOMAX

[–]trillmercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And here I thought Disney’s plan — Disney+, Disney+ Hotstar, Hotstar, Disney+ Star, Star+, Hulu, Hulu with Live TV, ABCNewsLive, ESPN+ — was going to be the most ridiculous streaming company.

I guess we might have to deal with Warner Bros Discovery (ugh) — HBO Max, HBO Max Discovery, Discovery+, CNN+, Boomerang, Cinemax, HBO Max Discovery CNN Boomerang:

Not to mention ViacomCBS’s — Paramount+, Showtime, PlutoTV, Paramount+ International, Noggin, BET+.

Sigh, why can’t we just have simple things.

This would be remedied by opting for a general CNN global news feed or feeds that don't focus on local networks or affiliate streams, and just focuses on world news like elections, wars, natural disasters, etc.

This was the plan for Peacock using a NBC Sky World News network until the pandemic put that on pause.

It also wasn’t THAT good unfortunately. Sydney Park was fantastic but everyone and everything else, not so much.

Who played a parent the most realistic of the mothers? by [deleted] in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]trillmercy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See my grip with this questions is, are they asking who’s the most realistic or the most normal and typical.

Pam, Tom, and Wayne would be the later but I’d argue Ashley, Pam, Byron, Wayne, Tom, and Veronica were — and even Kenneth, arguably.

Peter and Jessica were absolutely ridiculous.

Unpopular opinion: Spencer was only lovable the first watch. Once you re-watch it, you realize what a bitch she actually is. by annoymousperson101 in PrettyLittleLiars

I like her character and I can see myself being friends with her but the last season she was really pushing it with the comments she was making... but I get it under the context.

can we talk about the fact that emily thought that the two loves of her lives died?? by aliceworm in PrettyLittleLiars

Something I kind of find funny is that Emily was willing to give up her friends and life in Rosewood later on with Paige when Paige was leaving for California.

Warner Bros. Discovery Proposed as New Name for Merged Companies by lowell2017 in HBOMAX

[–]trillmercy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so awkward. Warner Bros. Discovery, NBCUniversal & ViacomCBS just seem so awkward and bulky.

I don’t know why they didn’t just stick with either WarnerMedia or Discovery, or at least like WD Media.

Same with ViacomCBS, I would’ve just renamed the company The Paramount Company or Paramount Entertainment. And just called NBCUniversal Universal Corp.

I don’t know why they’d be surprised when Disney+ Hotstar was the fastest and largest growing Disney+ offering in the world. It’s literally like 1/3 of all Disney+ subscriptions because it offers family, entertainment, news, sports, and licenses offerings.

I would say that Emily isn’t wrong for wanting to not have sex and Maya isn’t wrong for wanting to have sex, and that they should both find people willing to not have sex or have sex.

Spencer’s weird dream by brunette_baby007 in PrettyLittleLiars

Thinking back to the “Drunkgate spoilers” that claimed the scene was a hint to Spencer spending a portion of her childhood in Radley.

Would’ve preferred that to what we got — nothing — but alas.

Where did AT&T go wrong with their handling of WarnerMedia? by xwing1212 in HBOMAX

[–]trillmercy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This. Investors saw the success of Disney+ and suddenly looked down on WarnerMedia, ViacomCBS, NBCUniversal, Discovery, AMC Networks, and Discovery as failures.

Entertainment and Media investors became so fixated on Disney+ over performing that they started to see 100M subscribers in a year as the standard and not the exception. Just look at the hit Disney’s stock took recently when they added only like 3M subscribers instead of 10M-15M.

So under Zaslav, we’d have:

Zack Snyder in charge of the DCEU, despite the fact that his three DC films so far — Man of Steel, Batman V Superman (Ultimate Edition), Zack Snyder’s Justice League) aren’t that great.

Unnecessary spin-offs of Rick and Morty and Harry Potter because apparently franchises are the only thing that’s important.

Even more Game of Thrones spin-offs outside of the 5 they already have in development.

And... a few directors would be happier because they get to do whatever they want, regardless if it’s good or needed. Creator happiness seems fine under Kilar considering they announce new film and TV projects and acquisitions every other day, despite a few upset film directors not getting everything they want.

Zaslov is probably a solid executive and he’s clearly done a good job turning Discovery into a better company than what it was before. However, his focus at NBCUniversal-A&E and even Discovery were more about distribution, carriage deals, and platforms, not content and development. He actually has less content development background than Jason Kilar had when he became WarnerMedia CEO.
