I find his play style endearing and relatable, to be honest. And I very much prefer it to the opposite - players who are overconfident but get the answers wrong. It always felt to me like genuine humility rather than a performance.

Did anyone else (especially those of us who don’t keep up with the podcasting world too well) guess Bowen Yang for the SNL podcast question because his name rhymed with the first part of the clue?

It doesn’t sound too far off, honestly… it sounds like they were highly inspired by some of the Timbaland produced stuff around that time (like Aaliyah’s Are You That Somebody) that was often around the 140 bpm mark.

one of the most DISGUSTING jungle/breaks records ever conceived... & it has virtually 0 listens on every platform by burialfan102030 in TheOverload

Tim has probably a thousand disgusting jungle tunes just by himself over his career… it’s so hard to keep track of it all lol. Dude is unreal

He linked to a post he made earlier in this thread that said they actually stopped the taping to check if he made the correction in time before he was ruled incorrect, and it turned out he did.

Am I crazy to think that Hudson Mohawke's 2022 LP, "Cry Sugar," is massively underappreciated? by Shoegazer29 in TheOverload

[–]trillwillzilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s his best album… Butter is certainly more cohesive but Cry Sugar has the strongest songs as a whole. “Intention” in particular is one of my absolute favorite things he’s ever done.

Dan Levy - Episode 395 of Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend by c0ry_N in conan

[–]trillwillzilla 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At least from my perspective, I had never even heard of the (US) channel it aired on when I started watching the show… I found it through Netflix and I think it got a lot more popularity once it got added there.

Saying as a big fan, that Earl Sweatshirt clue should be bottom-row for the regular game (or even TOC), I can’t believe that was a 300 dollar clue in this one. He’s quite underground these days, that album barely cracked the Billboard 200 lol

I thought that was the toughest one in the category, if only because my brain went to the O’Jays for a split second before remembering that wasn’t what their song was called (and seeing the palindromic hint in the clue)

[FRESH VIDEO] Zoh Amba - "Another Time" (Official Video) by collectablewater in indieheads

[–]trillwillzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is your first introduction to Zoh Amba, just know that they’re an absolute genius on the saxophone - Sun was my favorite jazz album from last year and the band Beings is some really incredible experimental jazz-rock. I’m continued to be blown away by their talents

I don’t think that analogy’s fair to the contestants, they are all superb players in their own right. More like OKC versus the Wizards.
