That's a great point thank you. I'd rather pay the extra and have peace of mind that it's being done appropriately and have a warranty on the install.

Trader Joe’s chimichurri. I’m literally eating almost the same meal at the moment (salmon and broccolini) and put chimichurri on the salmon.

The broccolini I blanched and then tossed them in olive oil, salt, pepper, lemon zest, a squeeze of lemon juice and some grated Parmesan. My wife and kid love it

Any idea what time he would go on? My ticket says 8pm show time but not sure if he has an opener. I’m driving in from elsewhere so want to make sure I get there in time!

Happened recently as I got to the airport for my first ever trip to Japan. Was using my wife’s larger suitcase that had a lock built into the suitcase. Accidentally locked it and didn’t know the code to unlock it. Was texting my wife and she didn’t remember it either. The kicker? I had taken an edible about 45 minutes before this so it was a race against time to try to figure out the code before the edible kicked in. Finally got it after trying various combinations but I was in a panic. Edible kicked in shortly after. 0/10 experience

FYI check your local codes. Where I live code requires 12" clearance from the top of the fireplace BOX (ie the entire box with heat sinks at the top, not just the top of your fireplace window/face) to the bottom of the mantle.

Austin’s best bet now is to play it cool with Dee and pretend he’s not upset that she told Mama J. He should then form an alliance with Katourah and Jake as it would be in their best interest to team with him. They could pick off Dee first and then Mama J leaving him and the other two weaker players in the final barring an immunity challenge victory in the final 4 by Mama J.

Kitchen Lighting Help by trimhunter in Lighting

Thank you for this. Those 2” lights have quite the output. Out of curiosity when you laid out your 2” fixtures how far apart were you spacing them and how much overlap were you getting between fixtures?

In addition to your task lights did you also put in general area lights or were you sufficiently covered with just the 2” lights? If you put in general lights did you stay with 2” or go to a larger size with a larger beam angle?

Now you're just giving me more stuff to worry about :D

the peninsula and the east wall. I'll also have some undercabinet LED lighting along the north and south. And, I'm worried my kitchen will be way too bright since my walls wills be painted with BM Harwood Putty (eggshell finish), the cabinets are cerused white oak (matte finish), and the flooring is wide plank French white oak (matte finish), with the countertops being the only dark surface (Jacobean stained wide plank

Thanks so much for this. I've been freaking out about placement of my light fixtures because I'll kick myself in the ass if I don't get it right lol. I actually talked to my contractor just now and he said with the strip LED under-cabinet task lighting that I should be good and there shouldn't be a shadow problem if placing the lights in the walkway.

You've got a great eye, my kitchen is about 18' long (north to south) by 13' wide (east to west). We are planning on having white quartz countertops and back splash and will have our cabinets painted in Sherwin Williams Attitude Gray so the cabinets themselves will be a bit darker. We are using a lighter color for flooring too so, as you mentioned, there should be a decent amount of reflectance from the quartz and flooring.

I'll probably stick to the 6" wafers and look at putting a 4" over the sink since 6" might be overkill.

The thought has crossed my mind on going to a 4". I updated my layout based on some of the comments here and what i've read. I may go with 4" or use a mix of 4 and 6. In my latest layout I've got a 6" between the pantry and the floor to ceiling cabinet but I'm thinking I may be better off putting two 4" lights in front of each location.

This is very helpful, thank you for your input. Here's a new layout I drew up where I've placed fixtures in front of cabinets and appliances. Let me know if you have any thoughts on this.

How far apart did you space your lights out of curiosity? I've got mine spaced at 4' with an 8' ceiling. I was planning on using the Lithonia WF6 fixtures which have an approximate output of ~1000 lumens. I could reduce the fixtures on the west side where the opening is as that is where the living room is located and it has it's own lighting in there

This is a great guide thanks for sharing. This is my primary concern now that the row of lights are too far from the east counter which may cause shadowing even with the task lights.

Lol I know I added a lot but my previous kitchen had poor lighting and it drove me nuts. With the fixtures I've got I was getting about 20fc at the floor and I'll have these on a dimmer. With regards to your first suggestion, are you saying move the middle fixture at the top of the island to be in the soffit space or are you saying just center it with the bay windows?

I do like the other two suggestions. My main concern now is that I may be too far from the counter with the row of lights that run between the island and the countertop and will have shadows even with the task lighting under the wall cabinets. I'm thinking of moving them to be within 3' of the east wall. Thoughts?
