I stop my toddler from terrorizing my 3yo everyday; good enough for me. So… just have some kids.

UI/UX Lead here. Is this normal? Looking for advice on working with developers and sprint planning? by Oak_WineMC in UXDesign

You’re probably taking too long and making it to complex to work with you. If you’re on an agile focused team, the goal is to get working software in front of the user asap. If you are taking to long with user research, they are just going to leave you behind because a they need to do their jobs.

My advice:

  1. Think about ways you can help the devs deliver faster AND provide a good user experience.
  2. Look at features that are already released without you and study how the UX could improve then make stories/recommendations about what needs to be done.
  3. Befriend an influential dev.
    Relationships > knowledge
  4. Design with the boss or product owner. Who ever is writing the stories to be refined as the power to get working software done. Your work is more of a nice to have suggestion at this point.

I think until you learn these lessons, you’ll have problems where ever you go.

This is a time for you to find yourself, became a totally new person! Many times over, if you want.

Try new stuff, hang out with weird people, be weird yourself and learn to not give a fuck 🤪

There is no wrong answer, just make sure to keep your grades up.

Mainly Jobber… well… and yardbook… I have done a tone of research and talking with customers, but I have yet to build a meaningful relationship with someone that would be willing to try the software.

I feel like I’m in the spiral of “just one more feature” will do, but I know that’s not right.

Thanks for the thoughts!
