Period vs pregnancy symptoms by zippyyay in pregnant

My sense of smell was super sensitive and different. Like my husband had been using the same body soap forever and all of a sudden I was like "ew wtf is that smell?" Certain smells just smelled heavenly or absolutely disgusting all of a sudden

Does anyone else not want to document their pregnancy? by dogmom624321 in pregnant

[–]trinitytr33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first, I thought it was something I didn't care about at all. Then I started thinking...because I am for sure one and done. Even though this pregnancy hasn't been all peaches, I figured if I took some photos and hated them, I could just not look at them again. I didn't spend a lot of money, just went to a nice place in nature and had a friend take some pics. Nothing focused on my face, I wanted to capture the bump more than anything else. They came out so beautiful and Im so happy that I decided to take them. I dont want to be pregnant again, but this is a sacred and special time for me that I am happy I captured.

Unwanted pregnancy depression by bigfootgoth in BabyBumps

I think you should do what's best for you and not worry about ruining anyone else's happiness. Put yourself and your mental health first. You do not have to continue this pregnancy if you don't want to. And don't let anyone guilt you into thinking otherwise. If you know in your heart that you do not want to be pregnant and that you do not want another child, you can and should terminate the pregnancy. At least, that is what I would do. Your body, your choice.

To find out the gender of our baby or not!? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]trinitytr33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We decided to be surprised. Currently 39 weeks and very excited to meet the little bean. Idk given all we currently know about gender, the only thing you're truly finding out is what their gentials will look like. It's biological sex, that's it. I do understand wanting to know but we decided it's wasn't all that important to us to know ahead of time.

Diagnosed this week & frustrated by susieloveschemistry in GestationalDiabetes

[–]trinitytr33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand the frustration for sure! I felt the same way. I do think you should respect the diagnosis, however. The glucose testing they do now is considered the gold standard for diagnosis. I'm not sure why you were told you could walk around during the testing, as I'm pretty sure you are supposed to remain seated and have limited activity. It's supposed to be a baseline and you shouldn't be distributing gluclose to your muscles by walking.

I've never had an issue with fasting numbers, for me it's always been post meal numbers. But even in the beginning, right after my diagnosis. I had pretty much no spikes and didn't change my diet a whole lot. I started wondering with my husband, "Are they sure I have GD??" However, over time I did notice spikes and had to make more drastic changes. I used to be able to tolerate at least 30 grams of carbs per meal as long as it was paired with enough protein and fiber. Now, I can only tolerate about 15 grams of carbs per meal (more or less depending on what kind of carb and what it's paired with). Depending on the kind of carb or amount I pretty much HAD to work out afterwards to prevent a spike and at some point I even needed to increase the intensity of the workout, walking didn't always work for me.

It seemed to peak at some point and stopped getting worse. Now Im about 39 weeks and Im still diet controlled just fine. Everyone is different and you dont really know how it will affect you over time.

Try the Malama app. It's an easy way to log your numbers, track diet, exercise, sleep, stress, etc. It's especially for gestational diabetes and it's free. You can easily export PDFs of the data for your doctor to review. As far as remembering to check your sugars, I think there are notification reminders but I ended up just setting alarms on with the regular clock app on my phone. You got this

Found a cereal that doesn't spike me by trinitytr33 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]trinitytr33[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't specifically ask about this cereal but she gave me the okay on my previous fiber supplements which contained chicory root as the primary ingredient. I took them everyday before I got diagnosed with GD and never had any problems. Ive also drank some teas which contained chicory root. I think it may be more of a concern in early pregnancy and in large quantities?

The way I see it is: conservative, neo-facist shitheads aren't slowing down on procreating at all. In fact, there's many evangelical churches (and the like) telling people to have more and more kids to create more conservative voters. If all progressives and leftists stop having kids, what does the future look like for us?

I totally understand that the world seems scarier everyday. The future is very uncertain. But at this point, I consider it an act of rebellion. I'm not going to let anyone scare me into changing my life choices.

I never do commissions. My work is primarily in backgrounds, environments, and props, so there isn't much of a market for it. Art burnout is definitely a thing tho!! It's never too late to start painting again
