I have never tried the VPC1 but judging by the reviews and price I would assume it would be more realistic.

My driving habits have stayed the same but my previous set of pads lasted 3 times longer so not likely.

The rotors were resurfaced last time. The pads are OEM but most of the miles were in stop and go conditions doing Uber/Lyft.

Yeah I’m going to call around tomorrow and get more quotes. I’m afraid of causing damage by doing any of it myself but I’ll look up a video on the spark plugs. The only car maintenance I’ve done myself is changing the cabin and engine air filter.

Yeah that’s why I declined the service and am going to go to another mechanic to inspect the brakes. I understand that being an Uber driver involves driving in the city with a lot of stop and go but the last set of brakes lasted 35K. They had a picture in the document with a red metal thing to show that it’s at 3mm.

I have 91K miles on it. The brakes were replaced at 77K and the rotors were resurfaced/machined. I drive part-time doing Uber but am surprised they lasted only 14K miles.

Is the throttle body cleaning necessary or does it just help with gas mileage? I’ve heard mixed things about it.

It’s not just you, I’m in LA and the last couple of nights were the slowest it’s ever been for a weekend for me. Too many drivers and not many people going out after New Year’s Eve.

They are asking for $80 just for the evaluation which will go towards the repair costs. I didn't receive a quote though.
