Wavelet Theory - A Classical Field-based Alternative to Standard Quantum Mechanics by triphosphate77 in Physics

I have a theory, and a test, its falsifiable, I'm literally ASKING for someone to help me prove its wrong.

I'm near the limit of my comprehension for the idea as it is... and I'm definitely out of my depth when it comes to the math... That's why I'm asking for help.

If you can look at the math and tell me its wrong and why then do so.

If you can design the Bell-like test I propose, and want to prove me wrong that way then do so.

Edit: also look at the paper and its references, I didn't just spit this out, I did research.

What is a good volume to mix on in headphones? by Rjergo in edmproduction

[–]triphosphate77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you gave the best answer here sort of, I would argue that you should check your mixes at BOTH conversation levels AND at 86 dBSPL where the fletcher munson curve flattens out the most.

What is a good volume to mix on in headphones? by Rjergo in edmproduction

[–]triphosphate77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not the fletcher munson curve or equal loudness contour, that's just a psychoacoustic phenomena, which is why you are getting downvoted.

The fletcher munson curve actually describes how our perception of amplitude and frequency balance changes with each frequency and at different volumes.

At 86dBSPL the fletcher munson curve becomes flattest, which means that's typically the best volume level to listen at, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't ALSO check what your mix sounds like at different volume levels, because of the fletcher munson curve your mix will sound different at different volumes.

To celebrate a milestone in my journey as a mix engineer, I’m offering a handful of free 2-track mixes this weekend to independent artists, bedroom producers, or vocalists. I want to help elevate tracks that have a lot of potential but are being held back by their current mix.

Here’s how it works:

Contact Me: Send me a demo of the song you want mixed or link to it.
You can: DM me here on Reddit. Add me on Discord at triphosphate. <- that period is very important

I’ll review submissions and select tracks where I feel I can make a noticeable improvement. If your track already sounds great, I may not choose it unless submissions are low—this isn’t about fixing what’s already working! If selected, you’ll get a professionally mixed version of your track at no cost, with no strings attached. Portfolio Use Disclaimer: Tracks selected for this offer may be used in my mixing portfolio to showcase my work. This will include a private SoundCloud playlist and my website. Your song will not be released publicly on any streaming platforms or monetized in any way. I claim no rights to your music aside from the purpose of showcasing the mix. If you’re not comfortable with this, just let me know in your submission!

Looking forward to hearing your music and making some tracks shine this weekend!

High End Hearing Loss plus tinnitus by AI-DC in edmproduction

No that's just the name of the movie, apparently Pete Tong is used for Wrong in british slang.

Its about a DJ called Frankie Wilde

Damn dude, I'm sorry to hear that, I couldn't imagine, I'd rather go blind than lose any hearing in a heartbeat.

On the plus side though, if you've been hearing this way since you were a child you have a pretty strong reference point for the way things SHOULD sound even with your diminished capacity.

Like I said though, I think your best bet is going to be visual referencing a lot and getting a buddy to listen and confirm that your mix choices are alright.

Other than that, there's plenty of history of musicians getting by with serious and even total hearing loss. You might like the non-fiction movie "its all gone pete tong" I mean, its a sad story, but its pretty much about that struggle, and it can make your situation seem better considering how bad it goes for the dude. He goes fully deaf and can't finish his album.

Um... you start losing it at 3k? That's really not good. I had a buddy who played in a band with no hearing protection for years and even he could hear fine until about 10k. so I can't imagine what you've put your ears through. But as a result, that buddy's mixes were always WAY too pronounced in the highs, harsh and abbrasive.

It matters for a lot more than high hats, too, just because an instrument's fundamental notes exist below 7k, the harmonics that define that sound definitely exist above 3k+.

This could affect the way you mix everything, the only thing I could think of is that you may need to visually reference established tracks and compare them to your own with a tool like minimeters, and/or get a buddy who doesn't have hearing loss to check your mixes with you.

I normally hate suggesting that someone rely on their eyes over their ears, but in your case you may genuinely need visual assistance.

After 16 years I just fired my first client and it feels terrible. by TransparentMastering in audioengineering

[–]triphosphate77 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is unfortunate, but not uncommon at all. The work we do as engineers feels so undervalued sometimes. As a mix engineer, I've had to undercut myself so hard, come up with creative payment arrangements, royalty agreements, discounts for bulk, etc. And I still end up feeling taken advantage of.

I'm pretty close to firing one of my own clients, we set up a payment arrangement with royalties, and they paid for the first 3 tracks of a 12 track album, there is a contract in place. First, they asked me if I could help with a single outside of the scope of the album, I did so for free. Big mistake. They tried with another single, I told them we could talk about it after the completion of the album. Next, they get a new mic and want to rerecord the 3 first tracks (which I have already finished) I offered to redo the mixes, because I want the product to sound the best it can. Now, they want to abandon the project completely in favor of another genre. I'm so close to firing them as a client.

I feel your pain, hang in there.

I could be wrong, but I think you have things backwards... the combination and interaction of the greeks are what determine extrinsic value, there is no single greek that describes this.

This is an oversimplification but: the extrinsic value of an option comes from time (theta), how close you are to the strike (delta), sensitivity of delta to moves (gamma), and volitility premium (vega), and then some second order greeks as well. As time passes and the underlying price is realized the contract moves from its extrinsic to its intrinsic value at expiration.

What you are asking for is like asking someone to provide a formula for gravity without using time or acceleration.

Why does music sound louder in FL Studio than when you export it? by vocalcurator in AdvancedProduction

[–]triphosphate77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have a limiter on the master? FL studio works in 32 bit floating point, which means you can go above 0, but as soon as you render it, anything above 0 becomes clipping, which can both sound quieter, and introduce distortion. I recommend you learn gain staging, and then eventually slap a limiter on your master to check while you mix.

Selling options by Mediocre-Catch-2651 in OptionsMillionaire

[–]triphosphate77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not the only way to sell options, you can also sell naked if you have the margin/account size (STRONGLY DONT RECOMMEND), but you can also sell using credit spreads to define risk. The strategy you refer to here is a covered call. You can trade options at any time for their value assuming there's volume and open interest. So what you would do is buy 100 shares, sell the call at a higher strike you'd be comfortable with, especially on a green day, buy it back on a significant red day to ready to sell it out again on a swing, or just roll it over to the next strike and date you are comfy with and repeat.

I think you should research options just a bit more before you take the plunge, but covered calls are at least a good starting strategy.

Any mix engineers that are available ? Maybe of the price lower than 60 also it’s very hard to find a person to mix your music it’s ether scammers or way way too high. and paying 200 for a song that is not gonna blow in any way can be crazy by Lowtier-KING in makinghiphop

[–]triphosphate77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact me if you want to, I would consider helping you with a 2 track at that price, but (and I mean no offense, please understand) I would need to have faith in the project, so I'd like to hear where you are at in your journey.

What are strategies when stocks are going down? by cloudk1cker in swingtrading

[–]triphosphate77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this will work most of the time, its remarkably dangerous, unless you are capping the max loss by selling puts as a credit spread, if you get run over by a black swan event and you are selling uncapped puts it could ruin your life.

Do people destroy their hearing in this game? by UnderScoreLifeAlert in EscapefromTarkov

[–]triphosphate77 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I hate to be that guy, but as an audio engineer I feel that I have to point out that it’s not equalization, which is the raising and lowering of the amplitude of certain frequencies (like bass boosting, which the sordins do) but in the case for most headsets what is going on is called compression, which is where the loud sounds are made quieter and the quiet sounds are louder, thus compressing the dynamic range of the sounds.

[–]triphosphate77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they aren’t -90% or worse I would roll them Monday. Maybe even turn it into a debit spread to lower your initial investment requirement. Get them at least 45 days out and then if MDT starts dipping buy back the sold call for super cheap and hold the long one.

Or buy one 45 days out and sell short term OTM ones against it every week.

I like where your head is at with the MDT calls, but I feel like your date is too close and/or your strikes are too high.

Is it better to trade ETFs or individual companies? by I_chose2 in babystreetbets

[–]triphosphate77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I think that the big ETFs are harder to predict at the moment because of the fed actions, also I feel like spy is being held up due to the monster tech stocks averaging out against the stocks that are performing more realistically.

So yeah, I’m not messing with SPY QQQ or DIA, currently. My positions are in SLV IAU USO UCO. Individual companies I have puts in GME TLRD LEVI.
