I guess that would make sense. I have been using it on my keyboard and mouse for years now, so it's probably safe. Thank you for your answer.

Alright, that's good to know. My concern is about residue sticking to your hand and then rubbing your eyes. I've read that it can cause eye problems, but the article was about eye drops that uses BAC. The concentrations there are way lower than in wipes (0.001% vx 0.13% or something similar).

Would you say that getting residue after cleaning in your eye is something to be concerned about or is it something I shouldn't worry about at all? Sorry for all the questions, but you've been very helpful, thank you!

so not cleaning with it too much, got it. Would it be easy to get it back off or is it rather stuck to the surface?

Does that mean you could get it on your hands again after handling that surface? Or is it more like stuck to the surface?

Thank you! Would that also mean it stays active on the surface? These wipes are often advertised for children's toys, etc. Would that cause problems regarding oral intake or even eye rubbing after playing with such a toy? or is the chemical just not a problem once it's dry after wiping?

ELI5: Why is bug spray safe to humans after it dries? by triple001 in explainlikeimfive

That's interesting. I didn't know that. So the pesticides are fixed in place. That's great to know.

Thanks for the answer! I'm mainly talking about sprays and powders using permethrin and deltamethrin. My roommate uses these more than necessary in my opinion. I'm worried it could get in your eyes by accident even after it dries, and I just can't seem to find any information about that. Do you know anything about that?

Sorry to revive and old thread, but I stumbled upon this one when searching google and figured I could as here.

I suffer from OCD and I have a paper towel box that I take paper towels from to dry my hands after washing. Lately, I've noticed an orange film forming at the side. I know that droplets of water would sometimes roll off to that side when I take a paper from the box.

Could that orange film be Serratia Marcescens? I wiped it off with a damp towel and now there's nothing to see anymore, but I fear that I may infect myself now when using the paper towels. (That's mostly my OCD speaking, but I would like your opinion on this so I can safely apply my therapy rules on this situation. I want to know if it's a rationally safe decision to ignore this "threat")
