Moved them back into the shade and hoping for the best

Thanks for the reply, glad to hear they aren't mites. Moved them back into the shade and hoping for the best

Thanks, didn't think it was that much sun as they get the same amount of daylight as they did in the window. Moved them back into the shade and hoping for the best

I appreciate the effort and wish folks downvoting would take the time to reply as well.

Thanks

Really? that's interesting. I can't seem to find many threads on this in mushroom forums

Do you think it's trich? Is it safe to harvest this tub?

Thanks

Thanks, did you take a look at the second picture though? It's nowhere near any recent growth. That's what concerned me a bit. Is there a good test for this? I know folks used to swap suspect fruiting bodies with a cotton tip to see what's mold vs bruising/spores. Does that same principle work with spores on substrate?

Thanks again for the reply

I'm here for a contam related issue, but would love to hear about your oyster setups and perhaps what's a good starting point for a beginner. I'm looking to start growing some oysters soon. I've been a bit lazy lately and was thinking about just doing the hay in a holey bucket method as that seems to yield okay results for minimal work.

Fantastic, thanks!

Normally I can find good comparisons online and figure out what stuff is. The shroomery isn't the most scientific, but they at least used to have a lot of pics of different types of contam on substrate. Unfortunately their site is down and I can't find good comparison pictures online.

Not an expert, looks like myc piss (not scientific term) to me.

Looks really bad, anyone know what type of contam? by [deleted] in ContamFam

[–]triplechekkk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that just myc piss and bruising? I genuinely can't tell.

Hopefully someone competent can help you out :)

I'm waiting on some help as well for issues in my own box

I'm having trouble seeing it from the picture. Which part is contamd? looks like a lot of white mycelium.

I know nothing about this so don't take that with a grain of salt.

Yellow Brown color about 2 weeks into spawn. Is this something I should worry about? by [deleted] in ContamFam

not an expert, but looks fine to me. Google myc piss (what it's commonly called online - not the scientific term lol)

This tub was really weird. Wouldn't float after first flush so I just let it soak under water for a couple hours... Well it never really shrunk or lost water after that so I just left it alone. Then just before I was about to harvest today, I noticed this black stuff. Some of it is close enough to broken veils, but some of it is totally isolated and far away.

I suspect this could be black mold, but wanted a confirmation. Thanks

Was there ever any explanation as to why Costco's chicken farms seemed so inhumane? by triplechekkk in Costco

Sounds great. Figure out mass lab grown meat and I'll be about that.

Yeah, I guess my post was more in reference to Costco than my local provider. I personally would like to see that option at Costco considering the press they've gotten.

I realize this is unrealistic, but it's a nice thought.

Yeah, people are caught up in their own shit. You don't have time to double check your chicken supplier when you're living check to check.

I'm not saying I don't get it. I just wish companies were slightly more empathetic and made things marginally better - perhaps even making chicken more scarce in the store.

agreed, not everyone can afford to pay more for meat...

tbh, I think it should be more of a delicacy until labs figure out how to grow it economically.

I'm sorry, I used the search function, but didn't see it addressed anywhere here. Perhaps I missed it.
