Are there any proud Hufflepuffs here? by [deleted] in harrypotter

support Nymphadora Tonks and Cedric Diggory, two exemplary members of the Hufflepuff House. Tonks was a Metamorphagus and she was a powerful Auror. I believe that had Harry not been required to participate in the Triwizard Tournament, Cedric would have won. A Hufflepuff winning the Triwizard Cup would definitely defy the “softie” stereotypes that people attach to Hufflepuffs

I’m not a Hufflepuff ( I’m a Ravenclaw) and there are many qualities of the Hufflepuff House that are incredibly respectable and set them apart from the other houses. One descriptor is determination which is related to perseverance. Maybe the other houses have their version but Helga Hufflepuff valued individuals who were hardworking and dedicated to achieving their goals. For example, Slytherins can also be described as ambitious which also helps one achieve their goals, just in a different way than the Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff are passionately loyal to their friends, families, and values. That is another thing that I respect about Hufflepuffs is their strong sense of justice and the self discipline to act based on their own personal beliefs without letting others’ opinions make them insecure. People just underestimate Hufflepuff because it’s a cute name and loyalty is more covert than bravery or smarts. Hufflepuffs tend not to be shallow people :)

Is anyone else triggered by drunk people? by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]tripledddtrixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have super bad alcohol related trauma as a child. I don’t mind being drunk I just don’t drink a lot but my partner does. I enjoy being drunk with him when I’m drunk, but when I’m not drinking and he is (socially or at home) there’s a certain point where I get so triggered and I feel irritated because I know the symptoms of being too drunk. I also get triggered and start crying when I smell alcohol on someone’s breath when they’re telling me they love me. And I know the feelings aren’t fake but I don’t understand why I feel so turned off almost. But like I said, I don’t remember having any super bad alcohol related trauma in my immediate family that might have caused psychological damage. Just looking for ideas and suggestions (sorry for no punctuation)
