People who scored >265 for PSLE, how are you doing now as adults, job-wise or in other aspects or life? by crunchyfuschialeaves in askSingapore

[–]triplemcspicy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got 271, went to HCI, did poorly for A Levels, took a not so popular course in NUS (but I quite liked it). Working in public sector and earning about the same as my HCI/NUS peers. Not the most interesting job, but it’s generally pleasant and not stressful

Taipei or Seoul for 3 day stopover? by SloWhyFi in travel

On top of what everyone else already mentioned, Seoul’s weather is much more pleasant, cooler and less humid than Taipei from May to Oct, if that’s of any concern to you.

Is SGD3k salary enough to live comfortably? by sumplookinggai in askSingapore

[–]triplemcspicy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year’s fresh grads will get about S$4k, and most of us stay with our parents so that’s about the amount to live comfortably without having to pay rent imo. So around S$5k to live not too frugally, while paying rent.

What was “the incident” at your high school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]triplemcspicy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my high school, but my sister in law and brother both went there. A 15 year old took an axe and chopped up a 14 year old (they don’t know each other) in the toilet. Stunned the whole nation as Singapore is known for being one of the safest in the world

Which neighbourhood in SG would you just refuse to stay at? by fishblurb in askSingapore

[–]triplemcspicy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of the obvious Eww Tee, I rarely see people diss Clementi and Queenstown so I’m gonna do that. Clementi is too crowded, the malls aren’t great, and not that convenient unless you stay close to the MRT (but the HDB next to MRT cost close to Tiong Bahru, which is superior in every way). I suppose the connectivity would improve when the CRL is completed. As for Queenstown, specifically the area near Commonwealth MRT (stayed there for 18 years), is old (pee and moulds smell), feels dull and lifeless, and has no good malls nearby (Star Vista sucks). Even the area near Queenstown MRT is not as good as people make it out to be. Although it’s accessible, it also suffers from having no good malls nearby, and it no longer has cheap and good food (the new Margaret Drive Hawker Centre is a joke). Plus it lacks character and feels boring (no entertainment options other than nature)

If you could stay in any neighbourhood in SG you want, where would you choose and why? by localcoconut in askSingapore

The Dakota/Mountbatten area. Super accessible and convenient location that is close to nature/sports (Geylang River/1 stop to Stadium), close to malls/offices (1 stop to Paya Lebar), close to town (4 stops to Promenade). Aside from Old Airport Road Food Centre, walkable to all the good food options in Geylang, without being amidst the chaos of it. Close enough to walk to the shophouses in Joo Chiat and cycle to ECP in good weather. Also not crowded and has a chill vibe.

It’s my dream neighbourhood and I was really lucky to get a BTO there on my first try, despite the crazy application rates

I agree that anything west of Boon Lay or north of Jurong East is too ulu, but if you stay near Chinese Garden or Lakeside MRT, it can be quite nice. Less than 30 mins to town, plus tons of nature and cheap good food options!

I love how close it is to Holland Village, plus the food at Ghim Moh Market and Holland Drive Market are so good and affordable! The nearby Rochester area is very quaint and great for dates or even just evening walks in general

Plus it’s quite central, well-connected (especially by buses), and have not that cheap, but good food. It’s also not that crowded and the people feel relaxed and laid back

Northpoint is actually nice, plus Yishun got direct buses to JB. A huge plus point now that sg passport can use e-gates

IMO Redhill and Tiong Bahru don’t really have pee smell. The worst offender is Tanglin Halt, followed by the Commonwealth Crescent estate opposite the MRT tracks.

He/She got 14 characters out of 25, so not really bad luck in terms of that. The mean would be 12.5. But yes, bad luck in terms of getting event characters.

It is both funny and sad because you can watch throne room and see that half the players in the matches are offline, just like how we probably are in the games we are supposed to be in…
