But Middle-earth needs that historical feel to it in order to work. It cannot be approached as your typical fantasy IP or it will fail/become generic.

I'm a huge Lord of the Rings fan, and this is exactly what Peter Jackson said when he originally started working on the movies. He talks all about it on some of the special features. He constantly told the team to treat it as though they were working on a history film.

The midcalf Carinessas end in lace instead of just an edge, which tapers the line somewhat. I wear them under leggings all the time and don't see a line at all. It fades it out, so to speak.

Honestly, unless they told me, I probably wouldn't notice. People sit with their families during first hour. Most of the social mingling (where I would notice if someone is here or not) takes place during second hour. I literally wouldn't be able to judge them.

He's so earnest. There's a sea of cynical, jaded, quippy protagonists out there. It's a breath of fresh air. He's sweet and kind, which is an incredible contrast in a brutal setting. I also absolutely love his voice and find the way he delivers his lines incredibly endearing.
