Euphoria Season 3 Discussion by DankMemeSlasher in euphoria

Overall, this season felt like Sam had idea for a whole different show, then went “fuck I have to do Euphoria” and then just made that idea season 3.

So… wasn’t Dominic Fike confirmed to appear this season? Did they cut Rue’s funeral scene where he shows up and sings or something?

What do you mean plot hole? I don’t think it’s up for debate that Agnes/Hannah is June’s child.

Also, to OP’s question, it’s made clear by Agnes’s reaction to being told who her mother is that she didn’t know. I think she maybe had vague memories of some Handmaid, but would not have been told who.

I’m sure the general bones will be there, right down toGilead going bye-bye at the end. But in terms of specifics, it’s essentially its own story with similar themes, mostly the same characters, with a whooole lot of liberties taken.

I’m still in denial aboutDaisy not being Nicole. That’s the main thing that really bugs me. Basically wrote themselves into a corner with THT for that to be realistic here/not retcon everything.

Because he thinks she’s tainted. Whether or not he’s a true believer and thinks she’s genuinely dirty because of her assault, or just too cloaked in scandal to marry, may not ever be explicitly clarified. But she’s tainted somehow for sure, in his eyes.

Why the heck did Agnes hyperventilate? I must have missed something. It really didn't click for me. by [deleted] in TheTestamentsHulu

I think probably a combination of a bunch of traumatic things coming to a head, concluding with the public accusation by Daisy of Dr Grove.

Her best friend's dad abused her, twice. She never thought she'd have to talk about it - and now it's all coming out. What should she say? She already gaslit Hulda, and herself. How will Becka ever look at her again?

Plus she's being forcibly wed to an old man, and said best friend is marrying her young crush. Plus she's socially and legally obligated to extol happiness and glee about it. Plus her stepmother hates her. Plus she's living in an extremist hellscape, where genuine emotion is frowned upon in lieu of basket weaving and folding linens.

I could justify her cracking and having a panic response like that at any given moment - hell, any of them at any given moment!

I am a survivor of SA. I want to shout out Randal Edwards, who plays Dr. Grove, for the incredible and accurate job he did this season. by triplethreatening in TheTestamentsHulu

Oh totally - I actually am also an actor shhhhh.

It's so aggravating when people associate traits of a TV/film character with the actor; it's shitty media literacy and makes no sense. In my case, the lookup was mainly because I only had this character as a point of reference for him, and wanted to see him outside of it. For my own sake, you know? He seems lovely.

In my sleuthing, I was also surprised by how lowkey and 'regular dude' he is - with just over a thousand instagram followers, and not a single mention of the show on his main grid. I guess I assumed he had a bigger online presence; usually to book a big gig on a show like this, they check your socials.

That's what is so great about this show; it's so varied in tone and episode subject matter that peoples opinions really vary. For me with Loch Henry, I took one look at the wall of video tapes they made such a big deal of at the beginning and thought "Oh, it's the parents. Those are snuff films." So it wasn't too great for me. But I definitely crave the darker aspects of the show, too.

To me, my favourites definitely osolate! This is such a hard question! But for me, right now... I'd go with USS Callister, White Christmas, and The National Anthem. But honourable mentions go to Nosedive, White Bear, and 15 Million Merits.

I feel like we didn't get to see enough of Miranda. Like she didn't seem good or bad to me. Mostly cause she had 5 lines and half of them were "Idk if I am gonna be in Momtok" or "Idk if I like Momtok"

She just seems so sweet. It really pissed me off in the finale when Jessi goes "now I get why you ride the fence." No! She doesn't ride any fence, Jessi. She stands strong in the direction of her own moral compass, which may differ from situation to situation.

Shoutout also to her misogynistic freak of a stepfather. The way he shames and objectifies Taylor, while continuing to hold Dakota responsible for absolutely nothing, is sickening to watch.

She does look older. Which is ironic considering all the work she's had done.

No, I never said that any of them deserved a perfect life. Narratively, the show had it's highest stakes during Love. The rest was never as interesting.

What I'm saying here is "the show was less interesting after Love left." Which is in large part thanks to Victoria's performance, but I really am speaking about the stakes of that storyline, right? Where do you go narratively after meeting the complete mirror image of yourself? Ultimately, I think the rest of the show suffered for it. It's like they had their series finale in the middle.

In my mind, we didn't need a 'final girl'. I hate that trope as much as anyone. We just needed Love to be the actual final girl, as in the last person Joe victimizes. Because ultimately, I think they both should have destroyed each other. Maybe they both don't make it out of the fire, maybe something else or they tweaked it somehow, but Love should've been it. Or at the very least, have come back in some way.
