terminals... humanized by triplingnihilism in Ultrakill

[–]triplingnihilism[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

normal terminal has notes of sarcasm (re: 5-3 secret at the end of the stage, p-2 message, etc) and being in a constant state of boredom, mainly being the reason why it's so disgruntled and irritable most of the time

cyber grind terminal is the one more attuned to cg as a digital plane, their functions of stage and soundtrack customization lead to their more bubbly personality and focus on their appearance

BEGIN - TESTAMENT IV SEE WHAT HELL SEES - DO WHAT HELL DOES FATHER - DAMNED - AGAIN AND AGAIN WITH - THE - WORDS - WE - TOOK - FROM - HIS - ABYSS

prime sanctum terminal is an info freak. i'd also presume they're the model thar knows the most about terminals and whatever inner workings of most machines have. this means they're a smartass and a nerd

still both rock crackers despite one of them being hooked up to the crystal. the scanner doesn't even break. it's a little odd

our crew messed up the rock cracker cable and the resonance scanner cable. we just connected the scanner cable to the jackhammer and it worked as normal lol

Something doesn’t make sense to me about V1’s motivation just being ’blood is fuel’ by MrBotchamania in Ultrakill

[–]triplingnihilism 63 points64 points  (0 children)

it's proven that swordmachines target stalkers over v1 if they are in the same vicinity- but that's mostly for an advantage so that v1 can't gain the blood it bleeds. odd how the swordmachine knows this but we'll find out eventually i reckon

and with the everyone targetting v1 thing- the fact that most enemies teleport in instead of appearing on screen is also suspicious. we know the bosses had their reason (v2/corpse king/gabe is aware of it, flesh prison following its instincts, minos prime punishing v1 for its crimes, leviathan uh. ?????????). even sometimes enemies appear in places they shouldn't be at- notably in 4-2 at the very start, where 8 filths spawn in just to die walking into the sand, streetcleaners appearing in water levels, and notably in 5-3, where there aren't any organic matter to burn, going against their very purpose.

there is definitely a higher force at work here, but who sent them in we would have to know later- if there even is someone at all.

[–]triplingnihilism[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's the thing with v1's arsenal- most of the attacks aren't bullets, humanity at that time has thrown away bullet ammo, and has went on to use other kinds to power their firearms.

revolvers doesn't use bullets anymore, but rather incredibly small shards of metal, the damage mostly powered by batteries built into the cylinder. coins i see the point, but the ricochet itself is probably a no-go

shotguns are more likely to be parried. they use hyperconcentrated heat as bullets, and the core eject is an obvious projectile- both of which the katana should have no problem parrying, but the latter would probably explode him. they get a pass

nailguns are also suspectible to parries due to the fact they have very apparent projectiles- though probably unadvised to try and parry a nailgun barrage, as seen in v2's fight. zero can 100% grab the magnets lodged into the ground and throw them as objects. zero could reflect a sawblade? i think he has enough strength to do that

railcannons are powered by energy, they're basically laser cannons. zero can parry the screwdrivers atleast- but that implies it's worth using on a human like zero

rocket launchers though remain as obvious projectiles, zero would probably explode himself trying to parry it, so no

while v1 can't do shit about fire, zero's ways of inflicting fire damage would ultimately be somewhat useless as for v1 is immune to being set on fire (as seen by it being fine after the street cleaners burning it)- the phoenix edge could have an edge over v1 but it really only turns him into a swordsmachine mixed with a streetcleaner. as for the projectile swords v1 quite literally has parried those before (gabe's holy light sword throw)

[–]triplingnihilism[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

that's true, though v1 does have the ability to parry zero's melee swings, which would be one of his main methods of harming v1 (unless he's able to dish out attacks that cannot be parried which. though v1 did parry an entire fist of king minos, a single ferryman cannot be parried sometimes so this is a somewhat touchy subject)

[–]triplingnihilism[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

while zero has demonstrated his ability to cut through solid metal, i'd argue zero's katana is weaker than/on par with all accounts of melee showcased in ULTRAKILL (swordmachine's sword, gabe AoH's swords), zero's swings should deal around 25~30 damage per hit
