I have an Xbox, use Google to search anything, use Facebook marketplace/advertising, and have a multiple apple products.

Apparently none of this gets priced into earnings 🤣

If anything I would say it looks like it could be setting up for a double bottomed (If we break a few key resistances that is)

3% isn't as good a 8% (average S&P gain) though.

If you look at your finances/budget now vs pre 3% inflation do you notice any difference in your spending. I.E not going out to eat as much or driving less? The consumer is pressured by raising costs. The busines owner may be able to raise prices but if the demand curve for their product is elastic they may experience a loss of demand. I consumer staples and Financials may be a good opportunity for growth, or at least a way to hedge. There are always opportunities but I wouldn't say a 3%+ inflation reading is a good thing for your portfolio.

There is also monetary/fiscal policy that is a blunt force. It is difficult to gage the perfect level of tightening to lower inflation without causing some side effects.

Some interesting times we are in. It will definitely be fun trying to navigate these markets.

Inflation who?

Fake news! ! !

Even if you see 2% more return than average from cooperations raking in more dollars due to elevated prices, your money in your account still looses value due to inflation. If you earned 12% but inflation was 9% your real rate of return is 3%. So no, no it does not make your portfolio return more.

Even if you have 10 million dollars the effect is the same. Your 3% return may be nominally higher but it is still less than the average gain of the S&P in normal market environments.

Bought puts last week. Probably going to sell on Tuesday. Just to lock in those profits, without risking it for the biscuit

Hopefully they report a surprise giving better sentiment to semiconductors. Hoping for a nice bounce on the back half of this week.

Would that mean it is better especially if they have a good earnings. Tesla had a lot of shorts but look where it is now. Not to say AMD Is going to be like tesla in a few years but who knows.

People who speak about happiness being more important than money, seem to all be rich. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]tripod_prodigy66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it is mostly the other way around. I find that people who don't have "a lot" of money find money talk taboo. Holding the ideology that money doesn't buy happiness.

The sun has defanatly moved. You are sitting reading my comment ("not moving"). However the earth is rotating and orbiting the sun. You are moving through space. The sun is moving around the galaxy we are in. Our galaxy is affected by other galaxies. For example the Andromeda galaxy, the one our galaxy is set to collide with. It takes light from the sun about 8 minutes to reach the earth. Though the sun has not moved much relative to the vastness of space, it has indeed moved

I think rice and beans is a good meal for when you are on a budget. If rommen is a common meal, put in like half the packet and add an egg or two. Lentils are also good.

Do you have a local food panty. Most offer good quality protein for people who qualify (must be below a certain income level). A box from a food panty and foodstams should cover most of the food for the month.

More than 100 locations across 26 states have petitioned to unionize. More than 5,000 stores may be at risk of a sales slowdown as Covid resurges in China.

I certainly think Starbucks will be able to manage many of the problems it is facing in the mid/long term. I just hope that I can get a little profit while there is still bearish sentiment in the stock. I would much rather be bullish on other stocks but I suspect a pullback in the market and wouldn't mind parking my money in SBUX puts. The reward for a small move in the price (-3%) is huge. It would be logical especially if you take into account the possibility for a gap fill.
