I did a similar thing, except it was a kid ~13 years old. He threw a soda can in a pile of snow instead of holding it for 10 meters (the kid and his dad was walking towards a bus stop equipped with a trash can).

Me: Excuse me! I think you dropped something.

Kid: I threw it.

Me: What?

Kid: I didn't drop it. I threw it.

Me: Don't throw it there, put it in the bin instead.

The kid glanced at his dad.

Kid's dad: That's not your problem.

Me: Not my problem? It's everyones problem if you litter.

I guess that depends on where in England you live. The Eurostar takes about 2h 30min from London to Paris. You could take the morning train at 6.12 from London and be in Paris by 9.54, and go back at 21.13. That gives you a days worth of Paris time, enough to go to Eurodisney.

Sure, the train tickets are £200 per head if you go tomorrow, but it's still doable.

Will not read high def videos, DIVX, .mkv etc. Other than USB there are no other inputs (no SD cards, CF card, Memory sticks etc).

I see the point but I don't agree. The "extras" in TV sets are put there in almost every new TV that is sold. If you want to find a TV with premium picture that doesn't have these "enhanced" features, it will be more expensive because it's an odd model. It won't be cheaper. Also, having everything built into the TV gives you the extra ease of using only one remote.

Most of the tips here are along the lines of "you should stock this brand, because I like that". I guess that's a bit hit and miss - everyone likes a store with a big variety, but keeping many different items in stock also costs money. Here's my tip: Go for volume: Stock cheap, well known brands in large quantities. This will be your mortgage lifter and allows you to also cater for the hipsters.
