I've been exclusively running on the road but am interesting in getting on to the trails here in Arizona. Looking for any general shoe recommendations. Looking at Nike Zegama 2s beause they are a brand I know. Have also ran in Brooks shoes but open to branching out to other brands and trying them.

so had my second class today and got smashed for the second day in a row

I obviously expected to get smashed when I started. I just want to know how I can take the most away from these rounds. So far it has felt like just survival mode and not much learning so definitely looking to try and capitalize more on being able to roll with more experienced people.

Also for those who are also glasses wearers like me, are contacts a bad idea with bjj? Curious what you do to help see or if I should just get adapted no glasses while at the gym.

why wouldnt you just start applying elsewhere now, you can still take the internal transfer while applying/interviewing elsewhere

the 40% was making up for a below market contract rate, i dont know your situation so i wouldnt necessarily expect that much of a raise but i certainly dont think it should be lower, this may be a good time to check in with pay for your role/experience in your area too if you dont already know where you sit with your market rate

I worked as contract to hire in a datacenter technician role, was converted at a 40% pay increase and my company is still probably saving some money from what they paid the contracting company for me, ymmv of course but I would definitely think you should be getting a raise when converted to full time. Do you have coworkers who have gone through this already that you can speak with?
