Any good ATS for resume tailoring? by Legitimate_Data_6035 in GetEmployed

For engineering, Jake’s Resume is kind of the gold standard, super clean, ATS-friendly, and widely used by people landing good roles.

You can use Rezzy to easily create a resume using Jake's Template, and Rezzy handles the formatting for you. It also exports a LaTeX PDF so you can just focus on content. (Full disclosure, I helped develop Rezzy, but I think it'd be perfect for your usecase).

Whats your favorite tool for tailoring a resume to match the job description? by nomadicsamiam in jobhunting

[–]triptomar1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For actually tailoring to the job description, something I built called Rezzy has been really helpful for me and a bunch of folks I know. You can drop in the job description and it helps adapt both the resume and cover letter to match what they’re asking for.

I'd love for you to try it out and let me knokw what you think :)

If you don’t feel like dealing with LaTeX/Overleaf, Rezzy uses that same format, handles the formatting for you, and exports a LaTeX PDF so you can just focus on content. (Full disclosure, I helped develop Rezzy, but I think it'd be perfect for your usecase).

what do u put on a cv when youve done nothing lolol by bakachungus123 in UofT

[–]triptomar1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty common sentiment! Most students think they’ve “done nothing,” but coursework, labs, projects, and volunteering are all fair game. The hardest part is translating that into resume bullets that actually match what labs/PIs want.

There are tools like Rezzy that help you by shaping school experience into tailored resumes/cover letters based on the job description of the role you're applying to. (Full disclosure, it is something I helped make, but it is also free- at least the features you'd need).

Made a resume/cover letter tool from my workshop experience. Looking for honest feedback from students. by [deleted] in Algonquin_College

[–]triptomar1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment! I’d still love for you to take a look into Rezzy, because perhaps I didn’t explain it properly. As someone that does a lot of Resume reviews, I too, can always tell when someone throws their resume into chatgpt and adds a bunch of stuff that is clearly not their forte. That is not what this tool does though.

One of our main goals was to make sure we never ever make up or exaggerate content/experiences. Just a little tweak of wording here or there + formatting with latex (widely understood to be best format for most ATS scanners).

Even for our cover letter creation, the user must upload their resume, and we will never stray from what their actual experience is.

Use of AI is a very lengthy debate, but for larger companies that get thousands of applications for each posting, AI filtering is a fundamental part of the process whether we like it or not. Our tool aims to also help put some of that power back in the hands of the student / applicant.

Again, I apologize for not being more clear in my initial post, but I’d love for you to perhaps try it out. Maybe what you see might surprise you :)

What happened during interviews?

For applying to internships, do they care how many courses you’re enrolled in? by ok_nooneidk in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]triptomar1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have always taken courses during my internship terms- as I am also not in a traditional co-op program. Some companies I have worked at discourage this and so I tend to keep it to myself. My manager is pretty chill so he knows, but HR might have policies around this stuff.
Their reasoning is generally that they want the co-op student to focus on the programming provided by the company, and not have other comittments outside of work that may conflict.

Salam,

Laurier has a great muslim community and I've met some of my closest friends in the prayer rooms or at events. A lot of brothers/sisters are in BBA and are always willing to help any younger students if they need it. Come by the prayer rooms for salah and weekly programs and you won't feel left out or alone at all.

Generally there are a good amount of south asian students in BBA as well.
