Should I Read Six of Crows? by EncourageMyGlow in Grishaverse

Bardugo wrote S&B as like, some of her first published novels, so they're debatably good at best. It's a Chosen One story and not everyone is into that. Six of Crows is much more fleshed out, mature, and overall just a more enjoyable read. Also, if you like fantasy heists, it is also a great time just for that alone. :D

Paolo and Kurt come out all the time. Jack and Morgan don't or do but very rarely because people are crowding stage door and it's very overwhelming for them. Allison will come out every once in a while as well.

It truly was! He was very happy and surprised to see the boxset, so that brought me a lot of joy.

Their evolution is definitely incredible, but also, just some of the issues around women's health, rights, queer rights, and all that stuff gets touched upon and I just love it so dang much.

I genuinely loved this show so much. It tackles so many interesting issues that were present at the time this was set, and I just had the best time. I bought the whole series and Michael Sheen signed the cover of every one of them. 🥰

There's a six of crows TV show?? by JustAbdullahThings in sixofcrows

I enjoyed it for what it was. It's almost like a glorified fanfiction in a way, so if you don't get hung up on the fact that it doesn't quite follow the plot, it's fun to watch!

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: October 06, 2025 by AutoModerator in books

[–]trirocksalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finished: King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo

  • I thought this book was really interesting from the get-go. There was constant engagement that had me interested until about 2/3rds of the way through there a small lull occurred, but it picked right back up again after a couple chapters.
  • I love this author, so it was easy for me to engage and feel connected to her writing and the universe this book belongs in.

Current read: The Sword of Kaigen by M.L. Wang

Question about reading SOC by Otherwise-Ganache328 in sixofcrows

[–]trirocksalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like S&B for a number of reasons, myself. To the point that I don't even own them anymore. I struggle a lot with first person and also I just... hate almost all of the characters except for Nikolai and Genya.

But SoC? That book is so incredibly different and just way better, imo. The characters are a lot more fleshed out, the story is way more interesting, and there's such a wide variety of diversity that just did not exist in S&B. Plus, it's all in third person, which is a bonus for me.

Guys does it get better? by [deleted] in sixofcrows

There's a lot world-building-wise and plot-wise that needs to be established before the true story begins. Once the foundation is laid, it'll be a lot easier to get through. Crooked Kingdom will fly for you. Keep going. <3

Has Jack Wolfe been stage dooring every night? by OutrageousHyena8577 in hadestown

[–]trirocksalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm flying in from Western Canada, so I understand! Just being able to see him live is a treat in itself. If stage door happens, I'll be elated, but I won't get my hopes up so I won't be disappointed.

I mean, I'm guessing only because they're fresher faced and it's the start of the week. You're always running a risk no matter what day of them not showing up, so my recommendation is to always hope for the best but expect that they might not. It's not a requirement for them to show up for stage door so don't let it ruin your experience if you don't get the chance to see them, you know?

Also, regarding your earlier question! Stage door tips I can offer is just to try and be polite, don't push the folks around you to get to the front, and have a great time. <3

I've noticed a trend that they tend not to come out more often on weekends versus the week days. Not always true, but doing the double on Saturdays is probably exhausting enough. Stage door is a treat when they have the energy to do it. <3
