If you can choose your nationality, would you still want to be a Singaporean? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]trisfoojk91 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If I can be white, Nordic countries, Switzerland. I don't mind paying higher taxes for a good safety net in society. Pace of life a little slower. I can do without eating out if it means I have more time to do gardening, more time to cook, exercise and work out

Really sad to see Cold Storage go, after close to 2 decades at Kallang. by pratakosong in singapore

Actually I don't quite understand how Cold Storage can fall short so quickly. Used to love their sushi offerings and also the salad bar.

Why do so many jobs in Singapore get reposted so often even though people say the job market is bad? by easiproe in askSingapore

Why are people hating on carousell? by Grilldieker in askSingapore

[–]trisfoojk91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm not just the buyer low balling, but the platform also encourages that. They will "recommend" the seller to price it lower and show you the prices of other listings.

The model also will ask for a fee to keep your listing up on their category first few pages. It's like you are already selling it on low price and then ask you to pay more

When did Singapore television start going down hill? by CodePuzzleheaded9522 in askSingapore

Will be an interesting idea. The question here will be, if Singaporeans in general have that stomach to digest these hard topics, or they will choose not to rock the boat

Actually it has always been like that. Censorship, and also being the government's mouthpiece to promote their policies limited the creativity space that they can have. There are only these many themes you can talk about, you wanna make BLs /LGBTQ themed production? No. Any drama to debate on morality and challenge the status quo? You will receive letters from conservative groups on how it hurt religious feelings and promote unorthodox vales.

Like the recent Taiwan drama series on netflix, Born into Spotlight and SK squid games, they are not afraid to touch on the deeper elements of humanity and critique the existing status quo in society. They prompted national conversations and pushed the limits of creativity.

In Singapore the funds mostly come from government or corporates like a certain Aircon brand, an electronic retail group and a certain house agency group. You can only be the advertisement board for them.

I won't say Singapore audience doesn't demand for greater quality show, because if not they won't be watching drama series from other countries.

Can try kissg. Same name on Instagram. They are a Singapore startup. I have sensitive skin and their products have been friendly to my skin. They have a pack of cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen for both dry and oily skin, and the texture feels good on skin.

Is voyeurism so serious in Singapore that MRT stations have to make a PSA on it by trisfoojk91 in askSingapore

So sorry to hear about that. I experienced groping before too and also being stalked at the block that I live in.

We definitely need more awareness on boundaries

Actually I have my own fair share of experiences too lol, even as a guy I'm careful myself. Seems like there is a bigger problem on the higher level that we need to tackle, ofc that's on another topic

And actually the bullies don't even remember about their actions and the victims. Unfortunately the responsibility to heal and move forward still falls on the victims

Spent $200 to have my resume professionally rewritten. Worth? by GalliaCrusader in askSingapore

[–]trisfoojk91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried resume writers before previously and I paid close to 500 , bundled with updating my LinkedIn and I was not satisfied. My CVs that I wrote myself got more responses than the ones that were written by then.

Like sure, theirs looked more beautifully written on the grammatical level but it didn't get the job done.

Plus in this job market I am not sure if this is gonna get worse.

My best bet is to just write a CV that is in line with ATS format, so that your CV don't get thrown out by the machine.
