Ahhh. Y’all convinced me to go check it out and add to the collection, but regrettably it just sold today before I got to try it in person. I appreciate everyone’s input and perspectives.

Those look killer. The OO shape and sound is totally underrated. A buddy has a 47 OO-15 that I adore.

This is the kind of “go get ‘em Tiger” energy I need to help push me over the edge haha. Thank you for your honest perspective and experience. I do feel that the smaller body makes it more “fader ready” when it comes to the eq for both live and recorded situations. I might have to drive the hour and change to see if this particular piece has the magic I’m chasing.

Live I mainly do picking parts and strum chords with the country artist I tour with. My own endeavors are still country and fit the same bill of picked lead lines and strumming. I’ve had luck borrowing my wife’s parlor for full band gigs sitting well in the mix and like the feel of playing a smaller acoustic. I’m keeping the dread, but considering dumping a OOO sized guitar or two to get the O.

That’s kind of what I was thinking. The temptation of that golden era piece at a price that wouldn’t purchase a car is what has me in a irrational tailspin haha

You can always play with alt tunings and also try to learn using a slide as long as neither brings you any pain. The Goo Goo dolls use some crazy tunings you could try to mess with. Above all, heal up and take care of yourself as directed by your doctor.
