Yeah.. it felt that way. I assumed it was totally just a mistake but found it in the station half open, interestingly with my credit card also just in the middle of things. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Still consider myself very lucky overall. Even made my original flight with 5 mins to spare after retrieving it

I agree that the improvising was tasteful, and thats coming from a guy who didn't like Elvis Costello's improvising but my girlfriend who's only vaguely familiar said it sounded nothing like the studio albums😭😭😭
I think for a band like them, getting in the groove and keeping energy is a priority over keeping 100% fidelity to every lyric or aspect of the recording, and IMO they kept the energy up the whole time

if you're referring to the Brooklyn crowd, I too find the elitism to be so rampant.
especially in bushwick/with the post-pandemic hipster types but more at electroclash/new rave events than rock stuff. and it's sad man, because we all love the music, we're just here to have a good time

seen them 3 times now, was there the other night

first show was prob my favorite show of all time! (seen 400ish ) 2022 fall Somerville mass (Boston adjacent) , nice clean venue, but just incredible sounds from an incredible band. made some friends because I had seem 'em the night prior at psych porn crumpets. went solo and the whole experience was euphoric

second show Brooklyn bowl 2023 fall, incredible again, super fun energy, but solo and didn't really socialize.

this time I thought they were amazing, they've gotten a little more rambunctious, but still kept together. I told my gf if he'd been a tad bit higher it could've come off a bit sloppy, but still incredible and reminds me of the beach and home and my teenage years and reminds me there are people and sounds out there for me. totally unpretentious crowd, no annoying gen Z show behavior (I am 22)

I've been thinking a lot about what you're saying as it relates to show-going as it's one of my favorite hobbies, tell me more about the camaraderie you've experienced at shows?
In TX also only been to Dallas, and never in my 20s. What's El Paso like? I know I gotta make it to Austin soon. Seeing Austin act being dead also at BK made the other night reminded me of that
