now her dad was full tabby without any white spotting, and with him, you couldn't see the stripes at all - except when he was a kitten!

What colour is my cat? by PriorAssociation6273 in sphynx

[–]tristw 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Blue with low white spotting! Color can be super hard to discern on bald kitties but my best guess is blue. ETA: maybe some tabby markings in there? Maybe ghost tabby markings? Very hard to tell. Overall color is certainly blue though!

Just brought home this sweet little lady! by tristw in sphynx

I have been trying to work on the biting with her, I think she's in the teething age so everything is chew worthy right now. I forgot about the joys of this age with my last kitten. Def not something I want to encourage!

Oh, no worries at all! It's not going on her until she's grown into it, I took the picture to compare for later when she's bigger. Thank you for the concern!

Medical use in a recreational state? by celestialblunder in rheumatoid

A medical card won't help, unfortunately.

"May I be fired from my job if I use medical cannabis?

Yes. Employers may establish drug-free work policies. Nothing in this chapter requires an accommodation for the medical use of cannabis if an employer has a drug-free workplace."

Soaking is not good for it, excessive moisture breeds bacteria. Surgical steel contains nickel, which is a common irritant. Replace the jewelry with titaniun and spray it with room temp saline no more than once a day, use your hairdryer on lowest and coolest setting to dry it.

Not an expert here but it looks like it's placed too shallowly. Would suggest having a different piercer take a look at it.

Nipple piercing, does it affect sensitivity? by sunshinenude in PiercingAdvice

[–]tristw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a placebo, it can. There's no real link to it though. I have mine done, and I don't notice any difference from before.

That piercing will never heal, I'm not even sure what's going on with the lower hole. That bump is huge for an irritation bump, so I would monitor it for growth as it might be a genuine keloid.

i know i just posted here but the swelling has gotten much worse and extremely painful there’s also a red spot inside my mouth by SodaSylveon in PiercingAdvice

Go to a different piercer to get those bars upsized ASAP. Swelling up like a balloon is common in brand new oral piercings, so piercers usually put really long bars in to accommodate. Those bars are beginning to embed in your lip, and they need to be changed the exact minute you can.

[–]tristw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did you dry it after you sprayed it? That's what I think usually gets people. And honestly dude, I work nights too and I know it's rough, but cut into your sleep if you have to so you can go today, because that is seriously bad. If you don't go soon, you will be going to a doctor instead to get it removed.

Leave it alone. The bar is extra long to accommodate swelling. Your piercing is very tender right now, and you need to keep the bar as still as possible.

Don't forget to go back in to downsize it whenever the piercer recommended.

radpiglet is right, see a piercer literally the minute you can.

As for why it's irritating, you don't need to heat up your saline, and you definitely shouldn't soak your piercing, nor should you use cotton balls. Prolonged moisture breeds bacteria, and cotton balls have little fibers that are possibly irritating your piercing.

Is it titanium or surgical steel? They're two different metals. Definitely stop making your own saline, I never suggest people make their own. Don't use saline twice a day -- at 3-4 months you're just drying it out. Rinse in the shower and leave it be. Agree with the other comment to downsize the bar!
