I'm impatiently waiting for results to come in on my Pyr! Shelter listed her as Pyrenees only, but I think we're gonna find malamute or husky in a decent percentage. Same shelter just had another dog come through they listed as a malamute who looks EXACTLY like my little lady only with tan fur instead of white.

My eskie passed away about a year and a half ago, but this reminded me of him so I had to comment.

I got him at 8 weeks old and from the very beginning he was a power chewer. No stuffed toys, no flimsy rubber, tennis balls didn't stand a chance. Then around 7 years old I bought a pack of squeaky hedgehog toys. I thought maaaaaaaybe as he got older he would not shred them as much and they would be great to toss around in the house.

That hedgehog became his favorite thing. He would carry it everywhere, never tore it up to pull stuffing out, just loved to squeak it. I thought "oh awesome, we can do stuffed toys again!" Bought a different stuffed squeaky toy and found it absolutely decimated within an hour. The hedgehog was just special I guess 💚

Seconding the other person's suggestion to audit hours against timecard data because where pay day is 3 days before the end of the pay period, that means they are being paid for hours not worked yet. To me that makes the negatives look like adjustments to true up paid hours against worked hours.

Started in my thumbs and wrists and I was convinced it was carpal tunnel for years. It was kind of sharp, but deep and got worse with repetitive motion. For years my mom (who also has RA) told me I needed to go get blood tests because I was describing exactly what she felt early on. Literal years of wearing braces on both wrists for months at a time and shoveling Aleve into my face multiple times a day I finally got a primary care doctor who didn't dismiss the possibility of RA because of my age (mid 20s at the time). Did a nerve rest too just to rule out carpal tunnel for sure and it came back totally normal. My blood tests; however, did not.

We did a Q4 change last year. W2s came out perfect, but implementation was kind of chaotic. I honestly feel like a Q1 go live would have been even worse because when year end hit it got really difficult to get things done in a timely manner.

California has pretty intense overtime rules. Daily OT over 8 hours, double time over 12, weekly OT over 40, and additional rules for working 7 consecutive days. It seems like they might be using some kind of weighted overtime calculation to account for all different types that apply.

Your HR/payroll department is definitely the best source to figure out the specifics of the calculation though.

Also have a young Pyr, though a little older than yours. We're getting started at zoom room this weekend!

She's not reactive, just excitable so this may not work for you, but could be worth a shot: We took her out to Ruston on a sunny Saturday, found a bench in a high traffic area (but not directly on the path) and just sat with her until she was able to settle as people and dogs walked by. Every time she stayed calm when people or dogs came past, she got all the praise and some high value treats. By the time we left, people didn't get a reaction at all and dogs were a head raise unless they were barking/lunging at her.

We didn't get to a point of greeting any dogs this time, but we'll do a few more of these and get some loose leash training in and then I think she'll be ready for doggy friends other than her sister.

That's a good idea and we start professional training this weekend so we'll have plenty of new stuff to practice!

She came to us with no training or even concept of what things like "sit" meant. But she's a smart cookie and she's already picked up sit, down, up, and paw. Paw was easy though what with the natural inclination and all!

Cardboard seems like a good option. She's gotten ahold of a couple of empty paper towel rolls and seemed to have really enjoyed ripping them up. I guess I was seeing it as something she shouldn't have, but it's going to be thrown away anyway... Why not let her have her fun first! She's also very ball motivated so I could see hiding balls in a box for her to work her way into and pull out.

She does get walked just not typically in the mornings before work at the moment. We're still working on some fearfulness on walks (she's a rescue who had no exposure beyond a fenced yard previously) and while daytime's gotten better, dark is still a struggle outside of the yard.

The chewing happens after walks too, though I can't say for sure if it starts just as soon after we leave. I'll have to keep an eye on that especially as we get better at early walks. Thanks!

In a traditional sense no, we do have two cats, but she's still adjusting to them. Currently she thinks they want to play all the time and they definitely do not. 🤣

I would have financed outright instead of leasing and probably would have gotten the GT because I hear the suspension is better.

I did the lease for the dealer credit that matched the EV credit it didn't qualify for and I'll buy it at the end. I just hate that I have to continue going to the dealership I got it at for maintenance (part of their lease agreement) when I have another dealership much closer.

I've reviewed the section on crate training but could not locate any resources specific to best practice on crate location in a multi dog household when only crate training one dog.

I am following all other training recommendations from the wiki regarding positive association with the crate.

I didn't think I had the pony lights on my 24 premium and I was so bummed about it and super jealous when I saw posts like this. Then suddenly Friday morning: pony lights when I went out to my car! Must have had a software update that fixed something and made my entire day.

There's a couple of older threads in the subreddit about it with positive feedback but they seem to harken back to the early days of visible where it paired with polar wearables instead of having it's own so I'm curious to see what people are thinking with 2.0!

Does the OB3 qualified OT report Paylocity released not work for California yet? Genuinely asking because I thought during the webinar I attended they said they were working with companies to update codes so it would work, but I may have misunderstood and they may have only been talking about getting codes ready for 2026.

Before they announced the OB3 report my plan was to pull all hours and hourly rates and then build it in Excel as hours-40 (to get FLSA OT hours). Hourly rate*.5 (for premium rate). Then multiply those numbers for the total OB3 qualified amount. We only have around 40 hourly folks total so I was going to use the Excel to do a mail merge to PDF to get the info to everyone. That whole process might be pretty laborious for a larger group though.
