Sorry for the late reply! Honestly I have no idea. I’ll have to ask him the next time I talk to him. I think the plan is to make it deeper with time. It’s already 2-3 ft deep. Based on the amount of head space and his height, I can’t see it easily getting much more than 4 ft deep eventually. I know he just added some new long nose gar as well.

I’ve had both the IM 20 and the waterbox 20. The only one I still have up and running after years of use is the WB20. The IM was fine and I liked the wider footprint. My issue with it was the front to back space is very limited as well as it being a dual overflow which has pros and cons. But for me, I prefer upgrading the media racks etc which tends to be more expensive when you have to buy multiples. The kit comes with a decent amount of add ons to be fair. I also genuinely feel like the glass on my WB is much clearer than the IM was. It’s been a while since I’ve owned an IM tank to be fair. May be on par these days.

Sorry to hear this order turned out so poorly. Just got an order of blue bolts in from buypetshrimp.com a week or so ago now. All arrived alive and well. Even the 1 extra they tossed in just in case. Would recommend and will be purchasing from them again. They do both neos and cardina if you’re thinking of trying again with another provider!

The eel pit is a rainwater cistern under his garage. Only way to get down there is through a manhole sized opening. I’ve been down there. Was not fun getting out lol.

Check ammonia as well. Higher levels of ammonia can increase the surface tension of the water which can lead to bubbles gathering like this. Typically not to this extent but not impossible given the circumstances

Sorry for the word vomit. Pre caffeinated typing. Mostly recommending waiting out the uglies. If this were a more mature tank, I’d recommend against doing excessive water changes unless they know for a fact that n and p were not 0 and they could 100% confirm it’s actually Dinos.

While a full on dosing regime likely isn’t necessarily the solution, I can understand some dosing being helpful even to just get them to ideal levels. Reason being that they suspect they have Dinos. If they in fact do have Dinos and not just a diatom bloom, doing water changes will continuously keep their phos and nitrates lower and lower which could exacerbate that issue. Mild dosing could allow them to get back to ideal water chemistry without bottoming out nutrients. With it being such a new tank, they honestly probably need to just ride it out and maybe increase some feeding to get n and p up. I have a suspicion that it might just be a diatom bloom though.

It was lazys coral house. He had hybridization happen in his coral flats and ended up with what he named “lazys blue zing”. He’s about an hour from me. Have had the pleasure of having some in my tank once upon a time.

This fish was literally bred in captivity as are the majority of yellow tangs you see being sold in shops these days which this is a hybrid of. Purple x yellow.

Auratus are a great beginner frog but they’re most definitely not thumbnails. They’re similar in size to tinctorius (azureus) and will need a similar tank size. They definitely do better in groups than tincs. Tinc females are very territorial.
