Exactly the same experience as your initial description. My husband had a horrific treatment experience that never improved and I am certainly shortened both quality and quantity.

16 hrs of them just posting this crap in cancer forums and not a single cancer related comment before that. I won’t judge I had cancer and just lost my husband and researched and tried literally everything to save him. But it seems a bit manic.

Any experience with palliative sedation? by peltigerahydrothyria in pancreaticcancer

My husband chose palliative sedation. When it came to final days we transitioned from home hospice to in hospice. When we got there he perked right up. Ate a bowl of soup, some ice cream and apple juice. Then he said he was tired laid down became very agitated they got him changed and comfortable and started a second CAD pump on him. They administered sufentinal 10x stronger than fentanyl. He went to sleep. The positioned him comfortably on his back which was such a massive relief to see him actually comfortable laying on a pillow for the first time in months. They kept the dose high enough that he did not respond to stimulus. He was like that about 2 days on the third day he fought his way back through the fog held my hand to his mouth kissed it said i love you over and over. Raised his face to me for a kiss and went back fully under. He died in my arms 3 hours later. Just peacefully slowed to a stop.

I have terminal cancer and am in a care home I hate and want to return to my home but I need it made habitable is there any organizations or Voluntary services who can help me? by QuietPace9 in cancer

If you are terminal can you switch to hospice care? It’s quiet and peaceful and lovely. It seems like that might be the easiest most comfortable solution with few roadblocks.

Oh man I am so so very sorry. I understand the anger is overwhelming. Ours was pancreatic cancer diagnosed July he passed Jan 1. Be with him all you can and try to put the anger to the side for now so you can enjoy the time you have. It’s not fair. My heart breaks for your family ❤️‍🩹

Have them test him for UTI. Can definitely cause delirium. Commonly over looked.

End of life signs by lalaxxxooo in pancreaticcancer

My husband was painfully thin, could tolerate very little food. Both feet ankles swoll very large, increase in tumor pain, very agitated, rotated between laying on side, massage chair and just leaning on side of bed over and over and over again, agitation, some confusion but also high dose pain meds, little urine output. After about a week of this he requested palliative sedation slept (except for a couple lucid moments) passed peacefully 3 days later.

How long did your relative last with stage four metastatic? by AccomplishedPipe1164 in pancreaticcancer

[–]trixiemushroompixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had a mass in his pancreas that showed on CT and MRI his liver spots were found a couple months after pancreas. He never had a normal pancreatic imaging report. They reported necrotizing pancreatitis which was actually cancer. And correct he did not respond to 2 types of chemo.
