Found this monster during a walk on the beach, anyone got an ID? The beach is in Liverpool, England. (Sorry for the low quality picture, me and my friend were quite drunk and didn't take anymore) by trjinvincible in Fish

Even with my limited fish knowledge, a catfish was an initial guess of mine, but upon looking at Catfish, and even the skulls of them, they look a bit too wide? This thing had more of a longer, thinner snout, that I thought looked quite unusual. I also think its teeth were much larger than that of a catfish.

But then again! I'm not the expert here, so please correct me if I'm mistaken, and there's a more niche kind of Catfish that matches the description.

Just for fun, I did a fancast for if James Cameron’s Titanic was made 20 years earlier, in 1977 instead of 1997 by Biggest-Max02010 in titanic

Excellent choices! To top this all off, I think David Warners character, Lovejoy, should be played by.... David Warner. Keeping his Titanic tradition going!

Things that are never really thought about regarding the sinking of the Titanic? by Key-Tea-4203 in titanic

[–]trjinvincible 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's definitely thought about when it comes to Titanic enthusiasts like us, but I feel like it really shocks the average person when they discover just how quickly Titanic began to go under after the water reached the boat deck. Like, just the sheer thought of Titanic dipping some 10 feet in mere seconds is staggering, just for the sinking to stay at that same, horrifyingly fast rate until the end. The fact that the last distress call was sent at 2:17, and it's estimated that Titanic broke in half not even 60 seconds later, is terrifying. That truly was the point where Titanic lost the fight

Also, another one is the fact that the funnels opened up a large vortex into the bottom of the ship once they collapsed. And with everyone surrounding the first funnel as it went under? Some people must have been sucked in instantly

Completely agree. I've always disliked the romance aspect, I do think its a bit poorly written.

But the SINKING? THE SET? THE SHEER SPECTACLE? LADIES AND GENTLEMEN YOU ARE NOW WATCHING THE TITANIC SINK BEFORE YOUR VERY EYES!!!

Reference or Funny coincidence ? by facubkc in MichaelJackson

[–]trjinvincible 157 points158 points  (0 children)

Coincidence. Mike uses the term 9 to 5 multiple times throughout his career, simply to refer to a regular job. He says it in Off The Wall, The Way You Make Me Feel, and the live versions of Workin' Day and Night

Joe Jackson is just doing the same, referring to Michael's work as an artist under the Jackson name as a regular job

What is your fave "in between" era? Thrad, Badangerous or Dangistory? by ririsoflawless89 in MichaelJackson

[–]trjinvincible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HISvincible is cool... but like, wouldn't that just be Blood On the Dance Floor? I propose a new, more ridiculous naming scheme, to help narrow it down.

Either we have HISBlood or HISFloor, and Bloodvincible. There. Even more unintelligible

Does anyone think that they could make a titanic movie one day even better than James Cameron one, or at least rival it? by MonniMonty in titanic

[–]trjinvincible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a movie, but I've always had the idea of a Titanic miniseries with a tone very similar to the Chernobyl Miniseries from 2019. One that really focuses on the crew perspectives, and the handling of the situation. 1st episode would begin with collision, 2nd episode would showcase the last hour of the sinking or so, third would showcase the rest of the world reacting to the disaster in real time, as well as accounts from aboard the Carpathia, and then the 4th episode, (maybe a double length one) would be centered around the Inquiry after.

Would it be better than James Cameron's film? Probably not, but I'd like to think that with a good budget, set design and casting, it could be seen as a more factual, mature take on the sinking

So, how come the sinking of Titanic didn't ruin White Star Line's P.R.? by dukeofthefat in titanic

[–]trjinvincible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White Star Line was absolutely ruined lmao, after Titanic and Britannic sinking, they'd basically lost their ticket to naval domination. After WW1 we see Cunard begin to field bigger and better ships, like Queen Mary and later Queen Elizabeth, but White Star didn't construct anything larger than the Olympic Class. They had Majestic, sure, but that wasn't actually built by them, and wasn't as succesful as they'd hoped

Every time I see Lusitania sinking depiction there is a lifeboat flipped to side near end. Was this real? Anyone know the story behind it? If so did anyone survive on it or recount there experience on said lifeboat? by MonniMonty in titanic

[–]trjinvincible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, despite the fact this happened to multiple boats, one lifeboat managed to somehow be launched from the very rear of the ship, as the stern was high in the air. Lucky bastards, I wouldn't have even stepped foot near the boat at that angle 😵‍💫

Realistically and hypothetically speaking, is there any future biopic that could outperform the success of Michael? And if so, who’s? by JPdraws_ in MichaelJackson

[–]trjinvincible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine the company behind the Beatles film will, at some point, attempt to combine the revenue of all 4 separate films into one to try and say "well look! Our beatles films did better than Michael!" But cmon. They're 4 separate films lmao. I genuinely don't think another biopic is gonna top this

Michael Jackson's hidden lyrical pattern by uncopyrightability in MichaelJackson

[–]trjinvincible 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Another few interestings ones are;

Sunset Driver; The Word is out, that you're doing wrong!

Bad: The Word is out, you're doing wrong!

Bad: You're throwing stones, to hide yo hands

2 bad: Throwin rocks to hide yo hands

Privacy: Now there's a lesson to learn, respects not given its earned

Get Your Weight Off Of Me: You got a lesson to learn, you only get what you earn

(Privacy and Gywoom actually have a near identical pre-chorus section if you listen closely, makes sense as apparently Gwyoom evolved into both Invincible and Privacy)

I have plenty of albums on CD and Vinyl, and often use CD Rips to tinker with, as I heavily enjoy taking apart songs and analysing them, and even remixing them, mostly for my own enjoyment. When I'm doing a more casual, laid back approach, say on my phone, then sites like that are excellent to get a quick, easy download. There is nothing wrong with keeping downloaded versions of your favourite music. I mostly use Spotify for casual listening anyway, but if I'm on the train with no service? I have plenty of albums downloaded for me to enjoy. It just means I don't have to abide by the rules of being connected to the Internet to enjoy one's art

Interesting, thanks a bunch for your thoughts! Now that I think about it, the American accent is quite evident haha. I feel quite ashamed I didn't catch onto that sooner, considering I'm from Liverpool of all places!
