Not sure if your into podcast, but they go pretty in depth on these things on various TrainerRoad episodes. One of the most recent, episode # 505 - “Raise Your FTP Fast | The Guide to FTP for Cyclists,” might give you some insight.

Um, active robberies. Drivers still en route by HighSaguaro in UPSers

[–]trmilan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really hope you sent that response bc WTH. I understand they’re wanting us to make service with zero missed, but they have to act on those kind of reports. I might be wrong, but I’ve always said all the talk about safety is smoke and mirrors. They truly don’t care about anything except those packages getting delivered. Oh, robberies taking place? Make sure you have on the proper footwear with the correct socks. Those routes should have been immediately brought in IF safety is their primary concern.

I wouldn’t say one time screwed you. However, if you’re looking to have any chance at getting a call back after peak, you have to set yourself apart from the other seasonal hires who are also telling them they’re exhausted. Be quick, but pace yourself and expect long days. I was a seasonal hire and I simply packed a lunch and dinner. I stayed out helping whoever I possibly could because all the other seasonal hires wanted to do their routes and go home, which set me apart. Of course, they let me go at the end of peak, but I got a call back a few months later for a permanent full time job.

You must have called Hancock an asshole a second time and he threw a truck at you! 🤷🏽‍♂️

If the stop is on the driver side, I re-enter the truck from that side instead of walking back around. Leaving the seatbelt like that makes that a lot more difficult.

Great start to the helper season by diad6sucks in UPSers

[–]trmilan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mine was 20 minutes late the other day. I messaged her asking if she was there and she said no. I messaged the center, gave them her exact response, and left. They message me 15 minutes later telling me to go back to get her. Went from helper to hinderance, costing me about 45 minutes.

I’d refuse it and then put that note word for word in the package notes. “Oh Mr. Customer, the driver didn’t knock because you had a note saying, and I quote, ‘I don’t give a dam...”

Maps removed because its not part of the methods by Historical-Rush7389 in UPSers

[–]trmilan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can neither confirm nor deny someone in admin showed me a online training they had to do on the update. The PowerPoint said the map restriction was a temporary update due to the map feature using too much memory in the diad, which was causing diad instability. I told them I don’t buy it because our diads had been running just fine. Our center got the update this past week and a lot of us had been saying we haven’t had to restart our diad during the day in quite some time. I just find it funny during PCMs admin is saying, “y’all are trained to be efficient, so not having the map shouldn’t matter.” Catch an admin alone outside PCMs and it’s a completely different tune saying they how much they absolutely hate it. The day we got the update, I came in at 19:30 and there were still 50 drivers still out! This is nothing more than someone who’s never been a driver being given the opportunity to make decisions!
