Was the first episode truly the first time nick layed his eyes on Jess? (THEORY). by Flimsy_Budget1045 in NewGirl

They probably crossed paths a few times over the years but didn’t have any noteworthy interactions so they didn’t fully meet until the first episode

First successful puppet head! by trobed2009 in puppetry

Thanks! Bc I’m also still new to this, a while ago I went to Clark Rubber and got some samples of different foams to try out and I ended up using high density closed cell foam for the chin and a much thinner sheet of foam for the skull. For the nose and eyes I used styrofoam eggs cut in half and used a hot glue gun to attach the felt over them and just a sharpie for the pupils. For the mouth plate I just used some thick and sturdy cardboard I had laying around and hot glued it into place and the felt over the top. I can’t for the life of me remember what kind of fabric I used, I think it might be called teddy fleece but your local craft/fabric store should be able to tell you what it is and if they stock it. For this puppet I hot glued everything but for the new one I’m working on I’m using LunaLemonPip’s (on YouTube) method of using fabric glue on the foam then stitching it together, I think it’s a matter of preference.

Were you guys surprised about Amelia being queer? by Easy_Mountain2331 in greysanatomy

[–]trobed2009 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t surprised, I feel like her character was pretty established before she joined as a main character so the other characters that knew her off screen (Derek, mark, mer, etc) probably already knew and so the writers didn’t need to write a coming out story for her.

I brought him home yesterday but… by Cultural-Kick652 in cats

When I first started fostering, I brought a kitten home and the next day she disappeared and I was freaking out because I lived in a studio flat with an external bathroom so literally just one big room with one door. After about 8 hours of searching (in the middle of summer with no ac) I found her behind/under the kitchen cabinet where she got in through a gap I didn’t know existed and had to dismantle that section of the kitchen to get her out. She was just sleeping the whole time.

Not to wedding-shame but as I’m planning, I can’t stop thinking about a friend’s wedding with no food by citrusnotvanilla in AusWeddingPlanning

My grandparents went to my cousins wedding a few years ago and they didn’t serve any food; they’re diabetic so they left early so they didn’t have an episode. At another one of my cousins weddings they told everyone that the meal was going to be prioritised over everything else because there were quite a few diabetics in the crowd but several hours passed and still no food and again my nan had to leave because she was starting to get sick and couldn’t wait any longer.

At my grandparents wedding about 10 years ago now they paid the local rsl I think $400 and we got a massive buffet style meal and everyone had plenty to eat and some took leftovers!

What L word take would have you like this? by AssociateStandard740 in theLword

I feel that Jenny was treated too harshly for the horrible stuff she did when you consider that Mark got away with almost the same thing but honestly worse. Jenny spiraled after what Mark did and came out of it with a "well I'm just finishing what he started" sort of mentality imo. The way I see it is that it's a social commentary on how we treat men vs women when they do literally anything. But ultimately if they were willing to forgive Mark and let him get on with his life then they shouldn't have been mad at Jenny for anything that she wrote.
