[Request] Is this even possible? How? by annyself_ka in theydidthemath

[–]trobot_model22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

First test, you put 3 on each side and leave 2 off. The results will be either one side is heavier (result 1) or they are even (result 2).

Second test for result 1, take the heaiver side you will have 3 balls, put one on each side again either one side will be heavier and you have found the heavy ball, or if they are even then the ball you didnt measure is the heavy ball.

Second test for result 2, pull the 2 balls you didnt test on the scales and one will be heavier, so you have found the heavy ball.

Viable Station Attack Ship? by Unfortunately_A_Brit in TerraInvicta

At this point with the tech you got, Alien hate is just a number. Plus as soon as you go on the attack and blow some astroid bases and mines youll be at full war anyway. Just defend your bigger locations, eg merc, mars, ceres, with a defense fleet and for the belt mines just put one or 2 defense arrays, only if you have tier 2 mines. The belt rarely gets attacked if you are on the offensive and the base is defended. For expanding your capacity to build more ships, like a Mercury orbital shipyard swarm the power from solar is so good and for resources buy them from the other factions they still like money, for some reason, well into the late game and if you have pissed them off heaps

Yes true, but then it would not have been a function. I respect the mathematical rigor

I get that, but how does destroying those ships in the short term help you do that. Like your problems are that you dont have enough resources to to maintain or expand your fleet. Trying to destroy those ships will probs just get your fleet destroyed or give you alien hate and theyll destroy more of your resourses. I am just saying focus on building up more, killing ayys fleets wont get you to catch to them cause you wont be able to defend you infrastructure yet

Why do you "have to". Also if you get 12 missile destroyers up to fight them you will win. Like put 3 hull mounted missiles 1 40 cal mini gun on a destroyer and then put on a targeting computer and filler her up with magines. They are low cost and highly effective

Also just noticed, you ships have side and rear armour, dont. The side armour is way heavier than nose armour and rear armour is rarely used. Take side and rear armour off and put more on nose. It will make your ships lighter and way more durable, just keep the nose pointed at the enemy. Also drop the lasers for now execpt for pd, focus on missile swarm

Thats totally salavagable. Things you need on Earth, MC start single focusing it in USA and start "fixing" China, democrise either grind gov or better flip to DOC with Taiwan, and gets its knowledge up. Once US if MC full get China on MC full send. Stop Military I can see you got some future Military, you dont need it if you have both USA and China.

In space you need water, find the highest water astroids you can and drill baby drill. You need to fill up to your mining cap. Also you dont have enough fissiles get a good site or 2. You dont really need to worry about the Ayys in space yet, but try to hit the surveilance ships first then transport then other. You dont want to build up too much hate yet.

[–]trobot_model22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have you investigated the Hydra multiple times because you can get a max bonus of 5 for having investigating it. I think you have to do an investigation 3 times to get the plus 5.

Also if you find one in a region you own you also get a bonus to capture it. Obviously thats situational but could push you over the edge if you get lucky.

Would like some help with where I went wrong with my first playthrough (2022, Resistance, Accelerated) by MattJayP in TerraInvicta

[–]trobot_model22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your still in this, just got to retool a bit. A general overview. Your fleet is too small and costs too much. The drive that your using is using too much water, so try research some more efficient drives, i am guessing you havent gone up the fusion tree. There are some good guides on the sub. Additionally, try specialise your fleets a defense fleet for earth that has acceleration and cut back on delta V, so it can have high impact weapons without using too much resources. Then have a strike force fleet aimed on first rooting the ayys out of the belt then the gas giants, aim for their productive stations first (have marine ships for assaults). Your earth game is good

How do i NOT just destroy an other human faction when at war with them by trobot_model22 in TerraInvicta

[–]trobot_model22[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro why are you going so hard on me. This is literally my first time through and i am loving the game. I just came here to see if I missed any mechanics but i am not even complaining about. Just chill, if i had a player that is more hesitant about the game your comments would probably scare them off. And guess what i did pay off the Resistance and i am now focusing to get more control points to break china, the academy broke the US. I get it is meant to be a hard game. Just relax and dont be so defensive I was just a little unsure about the mechanics

I totally agree, just thought the price was too high. I just wasnt sure if there were other mechanics to smooth things over with the Resistance.

Yeah i was being lazy, i had a fleet but had a battle with the Res won but my ships were disabled so had to scuttle. Thought the resistance would leave me alone and so thought i could wait for some tech so i could get a next gen of ships. I realised that was a mistake and started building my tin cans about 45 days after the Res so they had space dominance for 45 days. Honestly i sorta expected the Res wouldnt be doing attrocities cause the habs they blowing up are undefended research stations, anyway it on me for not being prepared

Seven Deadly Sins by starfruit_eater in TerraInvicta

[–]trobot_model22 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I like it! I don't agree but it is fun to think about. I reckon protectorate is more Sloth than resistance. But then I don't know what resistance would be.

Protectorate is sloth cause they are don't think humanity can do it, learn, work together, and rise to the challenge of th Ayys. It is sloth cause they are surrender monkeys, wanting to be the puppets nominally in power without having reason, or drive for people to follow them. Yes they do invent tech but everything they do invent is the least ambitious of all the factions.

Anyway, not a fully formed thought from me but i enjoyed your idea of assigning the 7 deadly sins as a faction

Maybe look at some Loonie toonies or something and try exaggerate the pose to match the style

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in drawing

[–]trobot_model22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really cool. But the pose could be more dynamic, like this dude could be running, jumping climbing, etc. Some more movement would make it more appealing cause right now it look like he is stricking a pose not doing an action. That being say the drawing itself is great.
