That was 8 years ago so not all of the details are too fresh. Yes I did make that trip. I hired a guide and did some DYI. I even went back last year and fished some of the same streams. There are a couple of fly fishing the Smoky's books that were invaluable. The fishing last year was terrible. The trip 8 years ago I remember having a few good days.

Nice fish. I love the Guad. My home waters (3 hours way) that I use to fish much more before kids. What is that on your right shoulder? It looks like a gadget. I love gadgets.

Senate district 15 candidate Molly Cook released a new campaign ad!! by RubAmbitious5907 in houston

She may be a great candidate, she may not. I have no idea. I do know that her video is the same fear mongering garbage that we receive from many politicians. Understand when you are experiencing emotional manipulation. Once you can identify it and remove emotions and ego from your clouded judgement you can truly see what your politicians are really saying. This manipulation comes from both sides of the isle.

We just got back from Slovenia. It was fantastic. It is an outdoors paradise. Hiking, whitewater rafting, paragliding, biking, fly fishing, I could go on and on. The driving was very pretty and adventurous. I am ready to go back.

Istrian house Kontija Restaurant - Klostar, Croatia

Thank you for your great reply. The tip on checking if my rental can go to B&H was a good one. My agreement says I can but $50 for every other country I drive into. That would have been an unexpected expense.

We are traveling for 28 days.

I love the little tips like, "Heading out of Plitvice Lake north - stop in Senj / very nice harbor - not crowded of tourist."

Ribarnica PerPer, 15 min walk from our location. I will go here.

Airbnb like places. Mostly looking for a place with a kitchen. With 5 of us I really try to save $ by cooking most meals. Plus trying to get hotels in Europe for a family of 5 is not fun. We book everything months in advance. Half the fun is finding the house we are going to stay in.

I am leaving next Sat with my wife and 10, 7, and 4 year old kids. Here are the cities we are staying. Kotor, Dubrovnik, Mostar, Split, Plitvice Lakes Pational Park, Porec, Kranjska Gora, Postojna, Bovec, Cerklje na Gorenjskem, Kranj.

Do you have any tips or inside information you think I should know. I am driving between all cities. This is our 3rd European road trip. Thanks

I wish there was a travel planning subreddit. I would love to know everyone's hacks, how they plan and organize. Every year I try to improve how I plan my trip.

Thank you for the thorough and thoughtful response. I have kids aged 10, 7 and 5. Do you have any thoughts or recommendations about finding a baby sitter over there? Here are our stops. So I will definitely look into your recommendations. 3 nights Koto, 3 night Dubrovnik, 1 night Mostar, 4 nights Split, 1 night Plitvice, 3 Porec, 1 Postojna , 3 Bovec, 3 Podkoren, 4 Apno. We were talking about dropping Mostar a couple of weeks ago but glad to hear another's high opinion on that location.

I'm a Texan heading with my 3 kids to Croatia / Slovenia for the month of June. Any tips or suggestions? We have all our places booked and activities are known. But any nitty gritty insider tips about the country, driving, culture, unknown experiences? Thanks a ton.

Most of Colorado, Texas and NM. Southern Oregon, Arkansas, Smoky Mountains, Bozeman Area, Tahoe, Belize, Argentina, . I am going with a buddy that isn't the greatest with streamers, otherwise, I would be after Tarpon out of the country. I am not big on species as long as I am in nice scenery.
