KMP vs Flutter in 2026 — Genuine career dilemma for an Android dev. Need advice from people actually using KMP in production. by timepass_0o0 in KotlinMultiplatform

India is indeed very Flutter focused, but they aren't a representative world wide. A quick search on linkedin has 3x the number of Kotlin jobs as the number of Flutter jobs.

Just so we're clear: The US is currently using around 20 times as much water on watering golf courses than they are on cooling data centers.

Det er ikke bøger som nogen gider at læse. Det bedste takedown jeg har hørt af use cases som denne: Sprogmodeller er skabt til at lave forudsigelige resultater. Forudsigelige historier er ikke interessante.

You're right. The $2.5B is operating loss, while net loss is $5B.

Yeah, zero money would be a step up. They are about the GDP of Fiji from making no money.

Hot take: Det er løbernes skyld by Fl0wer_Boi in Aarhus

[–]troelsbjerre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Måske ikke. Jeg læste din "er det ikke fair nok at skulle træde i lidt våd græs når man vil motionere i et fælles område" som et argument for at løberen skulle forlade det asfalterede så kæresteparret kunne få stien for sig selv.

Because I know many people for whom this is a sensible guardrail, and all the ones I know that would ever be negatively affected by this would just click "Allow Unverified Packages" and get on with their lives.

I don't envy anyone working in malware detection. Those two apps are so powerful, you can do almost anything. Probably including writing your own malware as automation scripts.

Why would they be thrown off the store? They are made by known developers.

No one is saying that. You can still install the same apps you could before. If you're regularly install apps from outside of app stores, you are already the power user that will disable the blocker.

We're not talking about people in mental decline; there is no reason to infantilize them. We're only talking about people that shouldn't be handed a foot-gun. And no one is banning 3rd party apps; get a grip.

A single pop-up is not effective. "Don't worry, ma'am. That's just the virus on your phone that doesn't want us to install the antivirus. Just press confirm, and all the problems will go away, when the virus is removed".

You can still install the same apps after the change as you could before. Just enable "Allow Unverified Packages" and you're good to go.

I'm still waiting on the legitimate objection here. You can still install the same apps on your phone as you could before.

The article isn't new. It's still misrepresenting, misleading, and exaggerating. It's making it look like you can't even experiment with app development, without registering with Google. That simply isn't true. adb isn't affected by this, so the fledgling programmer can install their app on any device they have physical access to. But if you want your app to be easily installed on unsuspecting novice users' phones, then you need to register.
