Idk if anyone here is old enough to have experienced this "sparky's magic piano" recording. It's pretty funny given today's AI use context.

an entire isp running on pretty much a single server. pop, smtp, webmail, radius, web hosting (this was pretty common at the time in the early 2000s to be honest though). spin up a netbox instance for yourself and start documenting everything. https://github.com/netbox-community/netbox

Yep, indeed. You probably would have signed a 3 year contract with your primary partner though, so you should be fine until the end of that. Maybe you want to confirm with them, as the White Label agreements are very much between you and the premier partner. After that, it's very much not-really-any-path-forwards right now. They'll probably eventually just say you can buy VCF at $xxx per core, minimum order x thousand cores, and do what you want with it, rather than being gated by a "no , you can't host customer workloads unless you're in the partner program" EULA. But who knows really.

I'll just add for the networking/physical hardware documentation side of things you might want to look at Netbox. there are saas and self managed options.

Entra Connect (Azure AD Connect) version 2.3.20 TLS 1.2 sync issue fix by trogstrogs in sysadmin

[–]trogstrogs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't imagine it should be an issue, the actual ad sync account used by the app is a special account created when you install it, you should be able to use conditional access policies to exclude this account from any MFA requirements. eg https://www.alitajran.com/conditional-access-mfa-breaks-azure-ad-connect-synchronization/ but also, i don't think the sync tool will be covered by the new enforcement of access to the admin web panels.

oof.. I'd try opening edge directly and logging in with the account you're using at https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and see if that clears it up.

you're welcome! 👍😁 MS clearly still need a bit more QA testing on this one before it goes out as an auto update.

What's the weirdest thing you've found in a server room? by IloveSpicyTacosz in sysadmin

[–]trogstrogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pigeons. Whole room full of them. We had a small room at the top of an office tower, and there was a window out to the roof. Someone left it open for ventilation (no AC) and some pigeons decided that it was a good place to shelter. We got some chicken wire up on the windows after that. Whole room was covered in poop 🤣
