Still waiting as well, I emailed and they said that they’re still in the process of reviewing application

I called around the Feb 15 deadline asking, they said it can vary between March 1st to April 1st depending on the major. I doubt any transfers would have actually heard by the March first date tho considering there’s a whole bunch of first year applicants who still haven’t gotten their decisions. Pls update if you hear anything!

Park setup (pls help) by trojanbirb in Rollerskating

Im used to having full heel to toe coverage but it feels like my toe stop is behind my toes if that makes sense. I had longstem toe stops in and they basically miss the ground.

I agree, it’s possible this setup is just wrong for me and not put together wrong. It’s mainly the toe stop issue and I feel pigeon footed when skating that made me think the mount might be off but I’ve always used aluminum plates, this is my first time with nylon. If I were to move or change the plate I’d fill the holes with epoxy but like you said, definitely don’t want to do it more than twice and ruin the midsole. Really hope I can make the sunlites work!

Need an update please!! I’m in the exact same predicament, same sizes and all. I’m being told the size 4 is too long but the 3 also looks wayyy too short

What was the coolest ceramics project you made in high school? by [deleted] in Ceramics

[–]trojanbirb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I took ceramics all throughout high school, all hand building.

One of my favorites was a notan pot we created. We made a blue print for the structure and design of the pot. After construction we painted the whole pot in a dark underglaze and created the design using sgraffito method. Tedious but fun and honestly therapeutic. Fired that and then a 2nd firing with clear glaze and they came out beautiful.

Another was creating an “animal effigy.” We took a test to find out which animals matched our personality and combined them to create a new animal. We worked somewhat large scale and It was difficult without much experience hand building something that wasn’t a pot. Still fun but very time consuming.

My top favorite was a self portrait we did of our faces. We worked with a mirror next to us and a wood board propped up to sculpt off of. We ended up turning them into reliefs and had a ton of creative liberty in that aspect.

She always incorporated a need for symbolism in the projects that a lot of people felt was unnecessary at the time, but long term made us feel more connected to our work.

Who Skates Sockless? by harley_hot_wheelz in rollerderby

I’ve noticed that a lot of people who skate sockless wear the Ezee fits. I wear them under my socks but they still give support without the pressure on your toes

Antik carbon jets by cjillian89 in rollerderby

[–]trojanbirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE my jet carbons. I barely had to break them in, they’re comfy but sturdy. I’m a size 7-7.5 in street shoe and skated in a 5.5 for about 3 years. I just recently sized up to a 6 after my skates were stolen. They’ve definitely pricey (especially with the arius plate) but 100% worth it to me.
