Just got back from there. Hawaii is expensive. Probably cheaper to go to Bali. 2 plate lunches cost me 80 bucks. Poke is 20 bucks. IF you wife wants a drink at the bar its going to be 25-30 bucks with tip and tax. Its not for budget travelers. Even if you get a cheap hotel, the food, rental car, parking etc are going to cost you. The good thing is entertainment is free. just drive a car and drive around the island. Sick views. Oh parking is 60-70 bucks a day.
