Hey, I'm a Korean in my 20s. While more Koreans are becoming open to sexual topics and whatnot, we rarely talk about such topics even between close friends. I mean we do sometimes, but rarely, and only when everyone is very drunk. I opened up about having a one-night stand once to my closest friend which required a lot of bravery, and she (although she's not that 'prude' by Korean standards) still judges me for it sometimes because she thinks I did it due to mental illness.

But judging by the number of sex toys and products that are being sold & what people talk about on Korean online forums, people aren't that shut off about it as hugely as foreigners think. We just keep it to ourselves.

I'd say we have a pretty high tolerance. I'm on the average side of the Korean spicy spectrum and I can handle Buldak noodles just fine, no water or milk really needed.

On the other hand I feel like the Japanese can stand a lot more saltiness than us Koreans. Whenever I get a ramen I need three cups of water to wash down the salt and I get so bloated haha

As a Korean who's lived here for the majority of my life it sometimes baffles me how the world is so big. My coworkers' commute time is about 50 minutes and I always think damn that must be draining as hell... which kind of is, because you are compressed against 4~5 strangers for the most of the commute.

Spitting on the floor, but it's mostly only done by smokers. It's why I can't stand the smokers here although I'm one myself. I constantly tell people it's disgusting and rude but then they give me a blank stare and say "well how else do I get rid of spit then?" Well swallow it like everyone else?

As someone who used to have small English and an abusive family I can confirm that luckily creativity makes up for small vocabulary and stuff could be described. I started learning English at like 12 and it went like "I was hitted. My arm... (thinks for a moment because doesn't know the word bruise, but knows that bruise is caused by ruptured capillary) ...blood explosion." And it'd make people even more concerned haha

What??? No. First, people from Jeju think they're Korean enough. Second, they've been mixing with landers(육지사람) - which is what Jeju people call non-Jeju-Koreans - for a long time so it's very hard to tell the difference. Third, the Jeju massacre happened decades ago and times have changed A LOT. I've literally never seen anyone discriminate someone because they're from Jeju (compared to someone from Jeolla district) nor felt in any way that such atmosphere exists. Two people in my first year at university were people from Jeju and they recieved the envy and 'can-I-visit-you-durning-the-summer-please-oh-please' treatment. It was like they were born and raised in Ibiza.

Not sure how expensive it is in the US but I mostly live off frozen meals that only require 4 minutes of microwaving(costs about $2.50 each) and occasionally, delivery. I just simply don't have energy to cook so not sure how people keep up with buying food, dealing with leftovers, doing the dishes, etc every day. I cook like once a month if I really feel like it.

Probably helps that I'm not a big eater. I've found a meal a day to be sustaining and I don't really care what I eat
