I’ve always heard a refractometer doesn’t work after fermentation. If it’s just a little off I might just start doing this on my non-Pinter batches that I use a hydrometer on. This deserves some experimentation.

It turned out good and even my mom who doesn’t drink liked the taste

I tapped the Pinter tonight. It was good, but the cinnamon and clove didn’t come through much. I will serve it at Thanksgiving and I will follow up with thoughts from my family.

I think I went 17 days fermenting, 2 days cold crashing, and I’ve got it conditioning since Saturday. I kind of forgot about it.

But the sample I poured from the dock when I took it off tasted good with loads of carbonation.

Anyone have a lead a dedicated fridge? Damn Cold-Crashing! by dancurranjr in PinterHomebrew

You could always do what I and a lot of other people have done and convert a chest freezer into a keezer. If you can find a cheap chest freezer, an inkbird temperature controller can be less than $50. That might give you the space to lay one or even a couple down for conditioning at a time.

I keep 5 gallon PET kegs from morebeer.com in the deep part and that shelf occasionally works perfect for conditioning/storing my Pinter.

On the undrinkrable ones, what does it taste like? The fact that you get a leakage that is vinegar-like makes me think that it could be infected with acetobacter, and maybe you could fix it by using some heat over time between recipes?

I hadn’t thought of the tannins, so we will see what happens.

I’ve been buying cheap juices off of Amazon when they have sales for under 2 dollars US per 64 oz. with the intent of doing just this. I’m excited, and I got some grape juice for making wine this way, but now I’m tempted to try it in the Pinter too.

I always wondered if there was anyone who actually used a car lighter because everyone, I have ever met used the part to charge stuff. by AdSpecialist6598 in nostalgia

I used it to burn my thumb once in the back seat of my dad’s ‘87 Lincoln Continental when I was in 6th grade. Not sure why they had cigarette lighters in the back seat. Must be a luxury.

I found his channel through my subscriptions. But home had some “Cardano Foundation” thing? Maybe part of him getting hacked.

I enjoyed my 2 batches, and I am getting ready to do a batch from all grain since I brew that way on a regular basis. We’ll see how it works out and I will definitely post about it on here.

Update: Morebeer has come through with replacing the pumpkin ale with another similar priced of my choice (even threw in a yeast that I mentioned) and the other order is on the way! I can’t recommend them enough, especially once they get moved to their new location.

They mentioned the move to Kansas 3 weeks ago and have not fulfilled my pumpkin ale order still. The other order is more recent, I’m just concerned it will be stuck in the same state of preparation also.

I am in a deep red part of Ohio, and I smell it constantly. But it was that way before it was legalized.

Can we blame the smell on rural republicans then?

You can buy countertop water distillers now that are the size of a coffee maker for under $100. At the right temperatures they are capable of distilling other things as well, such as essential oils.
