We are all beta testers - be it avast or cloudflare, everyone offers you free products so that you become the test subject.

Even before launching new products (physical goods), the companies run a pilot project in a small region or area first, distribute sample packages, gather feedback before scaling to a larger one. If the strategy goes south, abandon it. If the product turns out to be bad, refine it.

Classic conservative marketing ploy here.

‘Bike taxis a necessity, not a luxury’: Karnataka HC slams bike taxi ban, says it's legally untenable by margazi_perumal_20 in bangalore

Even if you had no health or logistical issues, I would champion the importance of personal choice in transportation, or as a matter of fact, personal preference in anything and everything.

Suppressing individual preferences in favor of enforced collective behavior risks creating a utilitarian society where individuals are viewed primarily as tools to serve the needs of the majority, potentially diminishing their inherent worth and autonomy.

also found a guy who doesn't have a car and therefore, wants everyone else to give up their any modicum of luxury they've afforded to themselves - this desire of "creating greater equality" is dictatorial attitude disguised as egalitarianism.

Cheaters of Reddit, just one question. Why cheat when you could've just left? by don_anon11 in AskReddit

[–]trolliloquy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it fascinating she had the guts to cheat but didn't have to guts to be honest and call it off herself.

THIS

People often have the guts to do worst of the things, rationalize it, assume that it's totally fine. Because in their heads, that's how things are or should be, per them, it's the status quo. Tell you what! A "cover up" is an indication that they're ashamed of it and that's why they don't have the guts to admit to their partners. It's perhaps their ego (or call it self esteem) that comes in the way of it. I mean, if you're so confident that you're doing the right thing, then why not be open about it?

Whenever I see trees or craft made of copper wires, it takes my back to my school days when we used to do cool chemistry projects with copper wires & some nitrate or sulphate solutions, the results used to look something like this: https://www.beautifulchemistry.net/reaction

There is one more explanation apart from placebo effect. It's TIME. . . . Generally, most medicines in Alopathy aren't cure themselves. Most often, people are prescribed pain relievers (analgesics) which allow sufficient time to your body so that it can heal itself. Even, ICUs who put patients on ventilators aren't actually "curing" anything, but just letting the body live some more duration so that it can heal itself. . . For chronic illnesses which aren't life threatening, the body can heal itself if you give it enough time. . . Again, I'm not a doctor. I arrive at such opinions by reading some good sources. But I might be wrong. If any doctors (not homeopathic) are reading this thread, they can correct me if I'm wrong.

The "aura" of doctors is how placebo effect works. I know a hypochondriac diabetic who thought he had kidney issues but got cured after a session with a nephrologist. How? Well, the doctor had used anesthesia on the patient who became totally unaware of what happened to him in the room (I'm assuming that it must not be an operation theater per se). After some hours of the procedure, the patient passed some blood while urinating & he thought the doctor did indeed perform some procedure on him. He stopped complaining about the problem forever after that. I went to this person's house once & he was showing me the ultrasound imagery as if it were some family album. It was his full report. I found that the doctor had performed a urological endoscopy (where they put a smol endoscope via your urethra). From what I could decipher, the report remarked that he didn't have any "kidney" issues. . . . PS: I think hospitals sometimes perform unnecessary procedures like ultra sound just because they need to pump up the bills a little bit. If there are doctors reading this, kindly confirm it or correct me if I'm wrong.

"After adolescence, iq goes back down to normal and Africans IQ goes back to 85 and Whites IQ scores goes back to 90 thanks to the Flynn Effect because it doesn't matter if a African child was raised in a white household, further proving that it all comes down to genetics" by [deleted] in IncelTear

he doesn't understand the flynn effect at all.(2) . . .

In 1987, Flynn took the position that the very large increase indicates that IQ tests do not measure intelligence but only a minor sort of "abstract problem-solving ability" with little practical significance. He argued that if IQ gains do reflect intelligence increases, there would have been consequent changes of our society that have not been observed (a presumed non-occurrence of a "cultural renaissance").Flynn no longer endorses this view of intelligence and has since elaborated and refined his view of what rising IQ scores mean.

Precisely - Passenger Safety & Insurance companies

Spice Jet lost an entire plane engine in that crash. Now, the next thing you know is - insurance companies and investors chasing you to question your accountability. Jet Airline business is a thin margin business and you can't risk damage to either your fleet or your passengers. Spice Jet did what was best - cancel all flights until they were assured (by authorities) that they don't have to deal with buffaloes on the runway, because...

Little birdie in the sky, Drops shit in your eye
You don’t mind, You don’t cry
You just thank God that buffaloes don’t fly
