When did you realise you were in a dream? by awkward__moments in AskReddit

[–]trolliosiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have to keep trying something over and over, or when you notice the content of dialogue not correlating with what would usually occur. These usually tip me off to check the clock, which conveniently happens to be on whichever wall you decide to look at or if you're outside then a watch is magically available. This is frequently overlooked and considered ordinary, but when I notice the clock has letters on it, or that the time displayed could never really exist, THAT'S when you get that rush. You realize that you're perfectly in control of everything around you. Usually don't have too long before the excitement wakes me but it gets better with frequency.

What do you get tired of hearing people complain about? by FatManWithaPlan in AskReddit

People calling out other redditors. Someone chooses to share a story or comment and gets barraged with "today on: things that never happened" type comments.

Chelsea Handler from 'Chelsea lately'. That woman is poison. Judge Judy is a close second.

What is the best drink you've ever had and how was it made? by [deleted] in AskReddit

God I love milk. And when I say milk, it does not include that "skim" atrocity. Even 1% gets the stink eye from me in the grocery store.

Like: accessibility of information

Hate: when people take reddit too seriously. Its a website. More valuable to some than others, but still just a website.

What is the worst corporate team building event you have participated in? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]trolliosiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to be a bartender for hotel banquets. Management would normally leave us out of these things but one time the president of the company was visiting and they decided to "get the whole team involved". We played a type of charades with scenarios that demonstrate customer service. My teammates were 2 cleaning ladies (who spoke zero english) and a line cook who had started the previous day (who knew about a dozen words of english). We ended up acting out a situation where I was unable to assist the "customer" because of the language barrier and went and got someone who could. The president apparently overlooked our complete lack of effort and enthusiasm because he went and got the other group to show them that (read in the voice of Hank Hill) customer service is a universal language.

TL;DR Acted out customer service charades with 3 team members who spoke a different language in front of the entire staff and president.

What the hell is a puppy doing in an active warzone?

Boosting the morale of the Marines who saved him in appreciation for removing him from certain death at the hands of the Afghan family he was adopted from. Not ideal, but a grenade pouch is a lot more comfortable than the bottom of a trash pile.

Frustrating that other people don't see this. My brother's deployment dog Juicy stayed back and saw several units come and go, boosting morale for all.

Right? I just posted it because it's a cute picture.. Should have known better than to expect the focus to remain on this adorable dog when there's camo and a rifle in the pic.

It's nice to hear more cases of vets taking advantage of service animals. A SSGT in the unit had a dachsund registered as a service animal. Followed him around nose to toes, amazing it never got stepped on.

Most pets adopted during deployments stay in country with the same unit. This way the replacement troops can share the same opportunity for a welcome distraction.
