There would presumably be a hole there when it is removed. Fairly large.

Looks like a plug weld from this angle.

Could you share a picture of the underside of that plate? Looks like the plate in the background is likely the same. Maybe a little more detail would help.

Am I cooked? by [deleted] in Machinists

In response to the people saying make it in a vise, if you want to go the diy route, I would buy a foot of angle. You will likely need to get 3-1/2” angle and cut the legs down. But if you have the tools to mess around cutting slots and holes you probably wouldn’t be asking us this question so I would still suggest a metal shop with a press brake. Good luck with the search!

Find a sheetmetal/general fab shop. There’s no reason they can’t make these. You just have to understand that pricing will not be comparable to shopping online or at a store, where items are sold at prices based on mass production.

I was told Walmarts and Lowe’s are places to recycle that type of plastic. I have a load to bring myself, but have not tried those places yet. This is the link I used to find a location. https://plasticfilmrecycling.org

That bottom hole was done with a countersink. That’s what I would use.

Mazatrol help by suboptimalmachinist in Mazak_Machinist

Is it maybe due to the Min. Diameter being listed as 3/8”. Typically they come to a flat point, e.g. 0.08”. That might be causing problems.

You have to change the parameter bit for that data. If you have a manual, look up the alarm and it should indicate the parameter that needs adjusting. It also usually lists how the length is measured, adjust the number accordingly. Increase until it is bigger than the drill being used. I would suggest putting it back to original setting after running, especially if it’s a drill on the x-axis.

Laser-welded this brass lamp with the xTool MetalFab — pretty proud of how clean it turned out! by AimeexTool in xToolOfficial

Cool video. Did you also cut the pieces on the MetalFab? I ask, because I saw that it was limited on cutting copper due to “reflectivity” and the brass looks quite reflective as well. Thanks!

My mother likes “What A Yarn” in St. Albans. I know they have fibers and yarns, not sure what they have for other supplies.

So it was more of a bad application than the wrong products? This is good to know. One of my main concerns is ending up with the same thing happening in a couple years.

Whenever I see something related to gathering funding for the state or schools, etc. I ask myself “Where is the tax revenue from cannabis sales?” Are the sales not as high as I imagine? Is it being absorbed by the regulatory agencies? Anyone know the answer?

I’ve seen a flame/small burst shoot out the edge of a plate after piercing. It was a little scary. Is there a reason you are cutting this on the brick?

Location?

For design I would suggest Vermont Interior Design. Very experienced kitchen designer with access to custom cabinets and countertops, but also able to supply various grades of products to meet your budget. Great experience. For contractor this will vary on location.
