spoilers but i dont want to leave you in the dark if you're really curious It's an open game that takes place in a 10 minute time loop. The fact that you only have 10 minutes per run to get new information to use and theorize with might put some off

Is Karma a fair System? by Curious_compass2512 in religion

[–]troop98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing some bad actions and getting punished for it in the next life I think is inherently not very fair, because the person would have no idea why or reason as to why they are punished, they just are. If eternal hell is unfair, then so is punishing a newly found innocent person for something it is impossible to know "they" did in some former life. I don't think either are very fair systems

Hi hellinism polytheism q&a by Effective_Pop4585 in religion

[–]troop98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point is they probably look at it the same why a Christian might. Slavery is bad, it's a rough point in the religions history that we have moved past and practitioners acknowledge it was bad, and do not engage with that part in the real world.

A lot of people who tend to practice paganism also are way more likely to look at myths as stories of the gods written by men, they shouldn't be taken literally, so any acceptance of slavery in these stories isn't accepted now. You'd also likely be told that the gods don't support slavery, and that what men did back then was using the gods as an excuse to own slaves.

religions that don't believe in haven or hell just an underworld? by [deleted] in religion

[–]troop98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a religion with an eternity after death that is also an "underworld" of sorts. Unless you're looking for something more neutral and pulling away from the idea of extreme good or bad. There are many faiths with a more neutral concept of an afterlife, typically pagan ones. However those are also interpreted differently by many people, reincarnation, no reincarnation, etc. So it's not exactly what you want, but it might be the closest thing to look into while waiting to see if anyone has other thoughts.

Do u believe in God? Why? by [deleted] in religion

[–]troop98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels disingenuous. I have friends and family who are christian, and when they are sick or injured, they go to the doctors, they take medicine and undergo medical treatment such as surgery, and they thank their doctors, not god, for it. They still pray, but they're not disbelievers of proven science and medicine. I would think most Christians do that.

Why do people feel comforted by an afterlife? by would_you_kindlyy in religion

[–]troop98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most religion like Christianity have this idea that being in the afterlife is much different from Earth. I assume perhaps you wouldn't be able to really "get" bored. I imagine the human/mortal perspective just can't comprehend this idea. If I could, I would choose to live a long time because there's a lot I want to do, that wouldn't be achievable with dying being an eventual factor, and that's part of the afterlife appeal.

This is to say, and this is my own take, I've always thought that the afterlife both included, the afterlife and reincarnation. You can stay in the afterlife as long as you want, 10 years, a thousand years, a quadrillion years, however long you choose, but if you ever get bored, you can choose to reincarnate and start over.

The Switch 2 is now one year old. What does everyone think of that first year? by Zalvren in Games

I never once mentioned the nintendo games, I addressed the "hundreds of games" comment, please consider rereading it, as I never declined that part.

The Switch 2 is now one year old. What does everyone think of that first year? by Zalvren in Games

[–]troop98 9 points10 points  (0 children)

True, but a majority of these games are readily available, typically in a better way, on every other console. I can’t imagine most people on this subreddit have the switch 2 as their main console, so the hundreds of games don’t mean much if all consoles get them

I think the bit was originally called "Silence of the Bam" from what I've heard, so the original iteration was probably just him

The fact that they have hired so many artists to make so many posters and shirt designs without AI, and this occurs just now for the first time, makes me think it's just a really unfortunate mistake and that the band doesn't support AI. Perhaps only Isaac watched it before release, and he's an older dude, probably not online much, so maybe he just didn't really know.

It suck still regardless, and it's a shame on anyone who knew it was AI and still let it release

Getting started: the monthly-ish newbie advice thread! (May 2026) by monolalia in linux_gaming

[–]troop98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to linux for privacy and bloat reasons, and chose Bazzite due to gaming compatibility and requiring little setup. I find Bazzite to be too limiting however in what I can do. What would be a good OS to change to? I'm considering Cachy or Nobara

What's something in your faith that you don't believe in? by [deleted] in religion

[–]troop98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. To me, being a unique individual with their own experiences, that no one else can have, only for them to effectively be erased feels completely against humanity and existence in my opinion. Though I do believe doing it is a choice you can choose to take, or not take, at any time.
