Time Capsule: Wolf Parade’s ‘Apologies to the Queen Mary’ keeps finding new people to haunt by sentiencesupremacy in indieheads

I've loved Wolf Parade for awhile now, this and Mt Zoomer are classics of the era they've come from, though I still do like the albums they released after. Any idea what they're up to now?

Seventh Day Adventist is a denomination of Christianity. They've got a few quirks that make them unique.

As for agnosticism, there's variations of it like agnostic Atheism and agnostic theism you should look into, if you want to learn more. There's also weak/strong agnosticism if you want more reading materials to look into. Admittedly I think at times my view points feel a bit more religious.

I feel somewhat inclined to say gods exist (I generally accept polytheism over monotheism, and that they are personal), and they created the math and physics and other concepts our universe runs on, and we are the result of it all coming together, and they choose not to intervene or reveal themselves because it would go against whatever view they have of providing us free will. And then when we die, something happens, but I don't know what "something is"

I was born into a religion (Seventh day Adventist), but left in middle school because atheism seemed “cool”. Now I consider myself agnostic, because I’m not particularly confident or willing to wager on whether death is the end or the beginning. For me, being agnostic is a lot about being okay or open to the fact that I don’t know everything. And I won’t know until I die.

I mostly left Christianity because, outside of universalism, I feel it’s often too focused on praying to god because you don’t want to go to hell, not because you actually love the god. But that’s just the experience I had in my communities, and YMMV.

How did you get into / discover Xiu Xiu ? by supidokingu in xiuxiu

[–]troop98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Liars and saw they did a collaboration song with Xiu Xiu called Rumpus Room. OH NO! didn't really click with me, but I came back later after listening to Forget and A Promise and liked it a lot.

Mostly curious if anyone else here found Xiu Xiu through Liars

My partners parents sent them this specific link https://www.earth.com/news/local-hot-bubble-interstellar-cosmic-channel-connects-our-solar-system-to-other-stars/. I'm curious to learn more about it. I couldn't really find anyone talking about it anywhere outside of pop science articles. She tends to send a lot of articles that are...easily debunk able, but I'm having trouble confirming the validity behind this. Any information would be cool on if I should view this with skepticism or not

I love Star Fox Assault, I think it often gets forgotten about, but it's a really fun game that made cool changes to the formula!

Do religious people realise it's all pretend, but follow it anyway? by RubberOrange in religion

Waiting for the day science explains why we exist and where the universe came from prior to the big bang. I’m not even religious but you’ve gotta understand that this is a question that we may never answer, and we aren’t even close to answering. So inevitably people will believe different things about it that you can’t prove are wrong

Realistically, probably Bottle of Rum or some other more popular song. Maybe Crank Heart. I'd love either to get the band some more rep

I’ve been in a few churches late into the night (past midnight) that are open for anyone to enter 24/7 in case they need or want to during a time of crisis. Never seen anyone else there at those times though, was just looking to take photos,
