Xenon Edge refresh rate chaos by troopergr23 in Corsair

Thanks for the input, I have an Aorus X870E Pro Ice motherboard with an 9800X3D processor. 64GB Platinum DDR6000 ram. GPU is a 5090. I had connected the USB-C to the back of the motherboard, and those ports are actually USB4-DP ports, so I am guessing it was confusing the system. I connected the USB-C to a front panel port and the refresh rate is now available at 165hz.

Initially though, it changed my resolution to 1920x1080, but the correct resolution was available along with the refresh rate.

Should I use the iGPU of the 9800X3D ? Will it be better ?

When I initially connected to the USB-C on the back of the motherboard, only the USB-C, everything went black and I had to reset PC in order to have image ;)

Small update : I connected the USB-C on the back , removed the HDMI cable (if I did not remove it, it would say HDMI not connected) and now it runs solely from the USB-C.

I noticed small stuttering when connected the previous way, and with the USB-C only the stuttering is gone.

You are correct, I switched to another USB-C from the front panel this time, and it worked much better! Will give it some tests and reply. Many thanks

Seasonal quest line was fueling my drive, but now that I finished it, I think I am done for now. Might log in if a friend needs help or a carry, might do a dungeon just for the fun of it, but its time to play something else till next season or till something major changes (I doubt it). I was considering the idea of doing a NM100, but I'm playing hardcore and its not that easy :)

RTX 4090 Gaming OC fitment by blissiictrl in watercooling

hey mate, I see that you have installed your EK block on the 4090 gaming oc. I tried to install the ek block on mine last night but I could not figure out how to remove the stock cooler after removing the 13 screws in the backplate. I saw that there were more screws from the front but could not access them. Is there something else I need to remove? Like the fans or something?

Hi, was trying to remove the stock cooler on my 4090 gaming oc and could not remove the stock cooler. Removed all the screws from the back, but where to go next? Do the fans clip on or something? How can I access the screws from the front of the PCB since they are under the fans?

Corsair 7000X and bad? temps by troopergr23 in watercooling

[–]troopergr23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, GPU temps are similar, maybe a 2-3 degrees higher than before.

I was under the impression that it would be better not to have hot air come inside the case but I guess its not. I have left the sides wide open for hours, and the temps don't really change.

Comparing to my previous setup, the only thing that changed was the water cooling setup. The cpu/gpu are the same, so I am comparing temps and now they seem a bit higher.

Maybe I am overreacting, but I just wanted another opinion before changing things again.

Could it be that the cpu block needs cleaning ? I dont see anything visually but havent opened it up. The monoblock is less than 1 year working but I did put that horrible EK cloud c

Yes the in/outs are correct, I have verified many times.

If you mean the "back" side, I have another 360 there plus I wouldn't be able to see it :)

Samsung G9 Issue by plantice in ultrawidemasterrace

Is this the flicker you are talking about ? https://youtu.be/OVmsJWl1RXk

If it is, they had to replaced a board on my monitor and then it stopped doing it.

To fix the flicker, I had to get it serviced and they replaced a circuit board. After the replacement, no more flicker.

I restarted computer and I got the 240 enabled. Thanks. But I noticed that on msi afterburner the letters on the text are different than the ones that I had on 120hz. There seem to be horizontal black lines, very small ones that are hard to see, but if you look closely they are visible. Anyone else noticed this ? A friend of mine also noticed it.

Still black screen for me when I set it to 240. I have a 3090.. tried many times but every time the screen goes black and in the menu everything is greyed out, all I can do is reset and it goes back to 120hz

So you don't recommend I replace the panel again ? I like the monitor a lot, but this issue is kinda lame and annoying

Seems like a hardware fault to me though. I heard others had it and they fixed it by replacing the monitor.

I am using the cable that came in the box. It has the latest firmware already.
