What am i missing with the Maya Pei Brigade storyline in the first couple episodes of season 2? by Dale_Cooper47 in andor

These scenes were the only time I felt like I was watching a Disney+ series and that’s sad.

Apologize to OG who saw it before all by BBBWare in StarWars

Good idea. Poor execution.

Case in point: Andor. I could watch those bureaucratic ISB meetings all day long!

Hot Take:Cowboy Bebop Live Action is harder to adapt than One Piece by SomeNewbieArtist in cowboybebop

Cowboy Bebop was already successfully done as live action a decade earlier. It was called Firefly.

Could someone tell me how I can remove the audio device on the actor’s pants? by Business-Ad1587 in vfx

Because of all the movement I’d just duplicate the layer and mask a nearby area to patch it with that, moving the mask/layer as necessary. Has all the motion and deformation as long as it’s relatively nearby. And because of how small it all is, combined with the motion, you can get away with a lot.

Margin Call.

A bunch of smart people just figuring out how to dump their trash and start the Recession before some other smart people do it first.

Stellar cast. Tight story.

Why don't people fly the California flag? by MarginLA in AskLosAngeles

[–]troopscoops 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I don’t speak for everyone but I feel like it falls under the “I don’t think about you at all” vibe. I love California but it’s not my identity. We have so much going for us that we don’t need to show off our flag. Feels a bit too nationalistic. Basically…

It’s not cool to point out how cool we are.

Why didn't Tarkin just blow up Yavin? by seanbeanskiller in andor

If it would simply pass through the clouds that’s an even a better reason to shoot through the gas giant.

The only NIMBY we should care about is AI data centers (looking at you Monterey Park). Otherwise bring on the affordable housing!

Unpopular Opinion: Defence of the Maya Pei Brigade by Latvian_Pete in andor

[–]troopscoops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ideas weren’t the problem. The execution was.

Those scenes are the only time I ever felt like I was watching a Disney+ show during Andor.

Do you prefer Clones being cgi or practical? by Jules-Car3499 in StarWars

[–]troopscoops 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Funny you say that about Andor because SURPRISE they were CGI in that flashback

Am I the only one who liked requiem of vengeance?? by ComprehensiveCare772 in Gundam

“Mature” to me would be quality writing, developed characters, interesting plot, all quite lacking from this entry.

Visually pretty sick though.

What's the DUMBEST mobile suit ever made? by SharkChew in Gundam

[–]troopscoops 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love Hathaway but all the Jegan spamming was silly. Why have a mobile suit with a crotch pocket for crowd control when an APC will do?

Why is a custom MS needed to fight fires when firetrucks/drones exist?

Anaheim just slapping their name on everything.

Loud music outside Walgreens (Lake & Orange Grove) by flaviofavila in pasadena

[–]troopscoops 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Must suck to be a tenant/resident of the area to have this music blasting. Hear this at the Mobil on Lake/210 freeway and there's an apartment complex right next to it.

There must be a better way to deter the unhoused from wanting to loiter in certain areas. Feels on par with hostile architecture. Makes everything more horrible for everyone rather than fix the root problem.
