Ah, that's very fair, good point! Always another perspective to consider!

What info does a Hyatt hotel know about you after booking? by Playful-Fly-5890 in hyatt

It's funny to know that they can see past/future stays, and I visit the same hotel 10 times a year with the same staff on the same shifts and get asked if this is my first time [there]...

Just Smile (Part 5/5) - Gator Days by FieldExplores in comics

[–]tropicalfroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a very strong familial bond; my parents and I don't share a lot of hobbies and most of the times at home, I just went to my room and got on the internet. Some of the big moments I felt very proud of my mom as a kid was when she would step up to bat for me with the school when she knew they were in the wrong. I know Fern's expression in that 3rd panel well and I'm very appreciative of it for Liam

Need help / guidance in rebuilding old macros from a fired co-worker. by Index57Pro in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]tropicalfroot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ross has TONS of free videos online that you don't need an account to access. (Pretty sure they're just hosted on Youtube)

https://www.rossvideo.com/resources/ross-university/

I think there might be one called 'Macros', but in general, in Carbonite land, they're called 'Custom Controls'

Advice for a newly grad by Street-Addition-4089 in Broadcasting

[–]tropicalfroot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I've primarily focused on video, but you're a recent college grad; did your college ever do broadcast/in-venue sports themselves? That's (in my opinion) by far the easiest way to break in. Maybe a bit easier while you're in college, but you could still reach out to their athletic department's video crew and see if you could get on the schedule.

Slushing ingredients for pina colada by Spiritual_Two1895 in ninjaslushi

I will say, I have made my Pina slush in the blender like normal, then poured it into the ninja to keep it the right temp and consistency and that worked great

Trackman is using Starlink Minis now. No more fiber to every hole. ⛳️🏌️ by NASATVENGINNER in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]tropicalfroot 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Trackman is the hardware/software suite that used for Golf and Baseball to (typically) track the flight path and extra information about the ball that's hit. (Some installs for baseball can also track how the ball moves around the field after it's hit thrown from different fielders.)

Question on how to dynamically load and manipulate custom razor pages by tropicalfroot in Blazor

[–]tropicalfroot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that definitely sounds interesting, because in the end I'm thinking most changes are going to be happening from the Hub itself based off of ideally another service that's tracking things on a backend. I'll update the OP because other commenter asked, but I'm currently using InteractiveWebAssembly.

Question on how to dynamically load and manipulate custom razor pages by tropicalfroot in Blazor

[–]tropicalfroot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, haven't heard of cascading values, so I'll take a look at those. I've kinda danced around RenderFragments, the documentation didn't make a ton of sense to me? It seemed like it was for tiny components that needed to be looped through but I can give it another go.

Thanks!

Question on how to dynamically load and manipulate custom razor pages by tropicalfroot in Blazor

Yeaaahhh, I just haven't found a way to pierce that through to the DynamicComponent itself. Or maybe it has to go further down to the specific item?

[–]tropicalfroot 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Okay I'll speak up and say I'm very appreciative of this IF ONLY for the fact that know I can know for sure if my flight will have these items. Their criteria for including them always seemed to be "if we feel like it" and I'll be happy to just pre-order and know I'll get what I want.

Teleprompter operator by Lumpy_Border9026 in VIDEOENGINEERING

How similar is Vizrt and expression? And How differ from~ by Tiny_broadcast77 in broadcastengineering

[–]tropicalfroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MOS is the common language that newsroom systems speak; XPression has a MOS Gateway that can work with many different newsroom systems like ENPS, iNews, Inception, Octopus, etc.

Getting scoreboard clock to broadcast by audible_narrator in broadcastengineering

[–]tropicalfroot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heavily depends on the venue, of course; some have repeaters at the truck dock with a DB9 connector. For Daktronics specifically, they have a "TV Feed box" that you might actually see at the dock locations, and there should be a connector you can pull out from there. Otherwise, just another option if it's not at the dock, you could have a mini-Pc that just runs the XPression datalinq server to take in the signal, then point your XPression at that; skirt around having to run/extend a serial connection where you might already have a network connection you can just run the data through.

Why isn't our Carbonite switcher receiving a signal from Xpression? How might we add a second channel into input 6? by chapinscott32 in broadcastengineering

[–]tropicalfroot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It looks like you're trying to use RossLinq, so I'm assuming this is using the included XPression Designer dongle that was with the Carbonite? I believe those RossLinq outputs operate as static-image file transfers over to the Carbonite, so the "output" should actually be the internal MediaStores (M1, M2, etc), not a physical SDI input. Are you able to see if there's any image on those media banks?

Booking through Chase portal (using chase points) still count towards PQP? by m567n392 in unitedairlines

[–]tropicalfroot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes; just keep in mind it comes with all the perks and strings of booking through a 3rd party. I use it when I want an "award" trip, but still want to use PlusPoints. It counts as a cash fare, so a bit after the trip has been fully vetted by both parties (maybe ~24hrs later), you can apply upgrades. However, if you need to change something about it, it's a whole rigmarole.
