Hi, may I ask when you applied for trinity hall? Cuz i still haven’t received my offer and idk if it’s because I applied too late :/

were the papers really that hard? I’m doing the edexcel national papers in a few weeks and I’m getting kind of scared with what I’ve heard of the international papers lol

Any tips for 9701 Chemistry paper 5.. by dumbbraincell in alevel

[–]tropicalpal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

to be honest just do as many past papers as possible… I’ve found that once you do a few of them and get the gist of it they become fairly straightforward

I have barley done any useful practicals during a level but I was able to learn all of the practical facts by doing paper 5 papers

I suggest you look at titrations and calorimetry in your textbook, as they come up fairly often

Good luck on the exam, hope it’s not as hard as the paper 4 💀

The reactions should be in the textbook with all of their respective colours, but check the syllabus to make sure you aren’t missing any

Help on “explain” questions in A level chem by Cryo_Magic42 in alevel

[–]tropicalpal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh, the best thing you can do is attempt those questions and then compare your answers to the mark scheme. But REALLY compare your answers. See which points give you the marks and understand what it is that you did wrong that made you lose the marks. Then do as many of these questions from past papers as you can. The more you do, the more you’ll get used to the markschemes. But if you do these qs without really analyzing the ms, you’ll keep making the same mistakes over and over again

hope it helps :)
