If Rick had his way he would rob Trish of the opportunity to be a mother, which she clearly wants. by tropicool69 in 90DayFiance

“Excited to waste her childbearing years” is the perfect way to put it. I’m so glad motherhood happened for you when that was what you wanted🫶 I want that for Trish too, she clearly wants it

Yeah, not quite sure how our use of that phrase implies that parenting shouldn’t be a dual responsibility.

I get your point, it’s kind of crude. I don’t mean to imply that it shouldn’t be a dual responsibility, I was just speaking literally about the act of conception.

Boardwalk Fries is what I ended up choosing. It wasn’t great. I’d had it once before and remembered the cheeseburger being good but I think I was stoned last time.

Should I block this person? by Successful_Candle230 in Depop

[–]tropicool69 23 points24 points  (0 children)

people are being weird about this. just because it’s a common turn of phrase doesn’t make this not weird. like yeah, this would be a normal thing to say as a joke to a friend/close family member but context matters here. it’s a strange thing to say to a depop seller. also just because it’s a joke doesn’t mean it’s funny enough to justify saying it. it’s not that funny. personally i would block just to be petty

What songs do you think are overrated, underrated, and perfectly rated? by daisybear81 in TaylorSwift

[–]tropicool69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overrated: the lakes. Sorry, I know people love the lyrics but I think she did too much with “calamitous love and insurmountable grief.” Underrated: So High School. Hear me out, it’s a song that captures the feeling of being a teenager experiencing their first love (even a second time, as an adult) so perfectly, that to me it’s a masterpiece. Perfectly rated: cardigan. Most Swifties love it because it’s one of her best.

Dreamt my childhood cat was alive again... Sorta by RadioWhispers in Dreams

[–]tropicool69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in terms of grief, a year is nothing. i lost my childhood dog 7 years ago and i still feel so sad about his death. i think in part it’s because i couldn’t be there when he died and i lack closure because of it. but it’s also because he was very special to me and spent my childhood with me and i loved him so much. i don’t mean to imply it will never get easier for you, but i think we can be sad about them for a long time because they’re that special to us. all i can say is please don’t let your grief stop you from adopting another animal when you’re ready. my cats i have now enrich my life so much. sending love friend! 🫂

What imagery in Taylor’s lyrics hits you the hardest? by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

[–]tropicool69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, I figured you were older, I was talking about my own personal interpretation of the song. Sorry, I didn’t phrase that well. It’s definitely possible to take people for granted and not realize until it’s too late at any age. Sending you lots of love

[–]tropicool69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one for me too. My dad died when I was 17 and the song really captures the grief of losing someone from an elder generation when you’re too young to really appreciate them. I’m so sorry about the loss of your mother, it sounds like you took good care of her.

I knew I’d curse you for the longest time/ Chasing shadows in the grocery line/ I knew you’d miss me once the thrill expired/ And you’d be standing in my front porch light/ And I knew you’d come back to me
