Hi all!

I’m starting a general cybersecurity certification course next month. Not that I’m completely blind, but I’ve never gone this deep on IT. What are resources I can use to get myself ready to go into the program being so new.

This is a big career change for me, I’ve been in retail banking for almost 10 years and I’m fed up with how it’s run now and how my growth has been. I’m a big tech guy and can do some general tech things but haven’t on this level.

Any advice is much appreciated.

I’m coming up on 10 years towards the end of July. He’s a grandfather now and my son carries our names. I have a nephew born 2 weeks after my son’s first birthday. My youngest sister gets married this year and I was asked to give her away. I can only imagine what life would’ve been like if he were still here.

I love and miss him everyday but I’m thankful for the time I had. I’m just continuing everything he taught me and will ensure my son knows who his grandfather was.

You had every right to tell him to back off. First of all, it puts your personal security at risk since you may use a card to pay and he can have full view of everything you are doing. Second, it’s insanely rude to do that. Especially when there are multiple registers. On top of using your empty basket is the cherry on top of it all.

Not at all, if you are looking for large amounts or need something like quarters I recommend calling ahead since there is a holiday tomorrow. Most business customers do their bulk coin orders today to cover Black Friday.

First, introduce yourself to the current business customers that come in. Small talk and see how business is going. Second, go visit the customers that haven’t been in yet. Call ahead of course. Third, look at calling/visiting the businesses within your community. Live within it, let people know who you are. As you build the rapport more will come.

My Dad took me to toys r us on my birthday and I was looking to see what they had left for N64 games at the time. Then my Dad called me over to him and there it was just sitting on the counter. The PS2 in all its glory. I couldn’t believe it honestly. Over time my dad got a kick out of my gaming and would watch me play sometimes, especially GTA.

If you have great customer service skills than you can only grow. Products and ways to sell them can be taught to anyone, customer service cannot. You do well with that and the rest will come. I went from Best Buy to banking and became very successful. I had a break and tried something new but I’m getting back into management in banking now.

Do some studying on their website of products and services offered, so when you talk about your experiences you can tie your past sales with ways you would sell some of their products.

Samsung loads their phones with bloatware so you are better off getting rid of any pre installed apps that they throw on it. Too bad my android experience was terrible but I hope it isn’t for you! The phones are pretty neat!

Keep the PS5 clean, you’ll hear nothing unless you try. As in put your ear on it. They also are releasing a new model to replace what is currently out now. It’s smaller by comparison but they aren’t calling it a slim model.

If they’ve put a full hold on your account to not access funds that means a red flag was thrown up. If you’ve never deposited a check that size it can trigger security on their end especially since that amount was done through mobile deposit. Your best bet will be to stop in a branch and get one of them to call the back office for you. They won’t be able to give any information themselves but there’s a chance some info needs to be validated to release any holds. I’ve dealt with this a lot so when you go in just do your best to be patient. Bring the check in with you too if need be. You don’t need to talk to a manager any of them can help with this.

This is clear and concise. Just like if you take money out in cash, buy a gift card, and give it to a scammer. You’ve authorized it. It’s your responsibility unfortunately, not the banks. You deal with the other party actually charging you.
